National Spoon Day 2025 at Yogurtland

Fro-yo girl here. Happy National Spoon Day! Yogurtland is celebrating National Spoon Day with exclusive new giant spoons for the sixth time. This year’s spoon color is Midnight Plum, a dark purple. The spoons are a gift with a minimum $12 in-store purchase and a maximum of four spoons per transaction.

I heard that my store had several boxes of giant spoons. This is also the last giant spoon event of 2025.

The giant spoon says Yogurtland on the front of the spoon (on the handle) and nothing on the back. The spoon is exactly 12 inches long.

It’s always fun to see giant spoon collectors who show up early for their spoons.

In case you’re wondering, the previous National Spoon Day giant Yogurtland spoons were: pink and green (2020), raspberry (2021), turquoise (2022), dark blue (2023), and apricot (2024).

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yogurtland + JVKE Exclusive Flavor, Stickers, Spoons & Cups

Fro-yo girl here. Okay, I don’t know who JVKE is, but his face does look familiar. I could easily be confusing him with someone else. JVKE is an American singer, songwriter, and producer who gained fame through TikTok videos. And now Yogurtland has a collab with JVKE. They’ve renamed the red velvet cupcake batter froyo flavor “this is what red velvet tastes like” and this flavor is available at participating locations on September 1.

JVKE’s albums are called “This is what____ feels like,” so that explains the froyo flavor name. The red velvet has a special flavor sign. Yogurtland also has Yogurtland x JVKE cups (red with cherry blossoms), collectible spoons (black with a treble clef), and sticker sheets. Each sticker sheet has nine stickers, including a Yogurtland x JVKE spoon, JVKE, piano, Yogurtland cup of froyo, etc.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

2024’s New Collectible Froyo Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. My dear froyo spoon collectors, I’ve created a list of all the new collectible froyo spoons that were released this year. The list is alphabetical and organized by shop. I’ve also noted the spoon color and design. It’s also organized by the order they were released by each shop, with the oldest designs appearing first.

2024’s Collectible Froyo Spoons

  • Menchie’s, yellow, Spring Vibes, PB
  • Menchie’s, red, The Berry Best, Barry
  • Menchie’s, blue, I Heart Froyo, Menchie
  • Menchie’s, brown, Falling for Froyo, Chip
  • Yogurtland, dark green, Y
  • Yogurtland, lilac, giant
  • Yogurtland, yellow, PAC-MAN
  • Yogurtland, blue, Inky ghost
  • Yogurtland, red, Blinky ghost
  • Yogurtland, apricot, giant
  • Yogurtland, light brown, gingerbread man

In 2023, nine new froyo spoons were released (five from Yogurtland, three from Menchie’s, and one from SweetFrog). This year, there were twelve new collectible spoons, four from Menchie’s and eight from Yogurtland (three of the Yogurtland spoons were giant spoons). Thanks, Yogurtland, for all the new spoons!

Check out all the fancy froyo spoons on the Pinterest board, Fancy Froyo Spoons.

New Pac-Man Spoons at Yogurtland

Fro-yo girl here. Pac-Man, the classic video game that was released in 1980, is the inspiration for Yogurtland’s newest collectible froyo spoons. In the game, Pac-Man, a character that looks like a pizza with a slice missing, must navigate a maze by eating dots, while avoiding four colored ghosts. If the ghost catches Pac-Man, he loses a life. It is considered one of the most influential video games of all time.

Yogurtland’s newest spoons feature Pac-Man (a yellow spoon), a blue ghost, and a red ghost. The spoons say Yogurtland and Pac-Man on the handle. These are the first new character spoons from Yogurtland in 2024.

The spoons are available while supplies last. There may be a Pac-Man cup as well, but I haven’t seen it yet.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Yogurtland Summer Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. Yogurtland new spoon alert! Yogurtland has new summer spoons. The spoons are dark yellow. A pair of sunglasses is at the end of the spoon handle and a Yogurtland logo can be seen in each lens. I have a feeling that these spoons are only available for a limited time.

Yogurtland also has a new summer flavor, Pineapple Mango sorbet. I haven’t found it yet but I’ll report back.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

History of Yogurtland Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. I’ve written lots of posts about my Yogurtland spoon collection but never one about the entire Yogurtland spoon collection. Since I’ve been collecting Yogurtland spoons since 2008, it feels like time for a comprehensive list of Yogurtland spoons.

Yogurtland started out with generic froyo spoons in 2006. The first Yogurtland spoons that had their name on the handle came out in 2007 in pink and green. The logo has changed since the early days and they’ve had many versions of their signature pink and green spoons. Notably, during their 10th anniversary year, the spoon handles had interesting facts about Yogurtland.

There have been many limited edition Yogurtland spoons over the years. The designs were inspired by their partnerships with video games, movies, National Frozen Yogurt Day, National Spoon Day, National Ice Cream Day, Valentine’s Day, and Yogurtland’s own anniversaries (5th, 10th), new products, etc. If you had one spoon each of the limited edition designs they’ve come out with, your froyo spoon collection would include over 60 different froyo spoons.

The first Yogurtland character spoons were introduced in 2009 when Yogurtland partnered with Tokidoki. Tokidoki Loves Yogurtland featured four spoon designs with Tokidoki characters.

Regular Sized, Limited Edition Spoons

  • Tokidoki (4 designs), 2009
  • Sanrio/Hello Kitty (4 designs), 2011
  • Purple 5th anniversary spoon, 2011
  • Sanrio/Hello Kitty (4 designs), 2012
  • National Frozen Yogurt Day, teal spoon, 2012
  • Looney Tunes (6 designs), 2013
  • National Frozen Yogurt Day orange spoon, 2013
  • National Frozen Yogurt Day Color Changing spoons (2 designs), 2014
  • Ultimate Summer spoons (5 designs), 2014
  • National Frozen Yogurt Day Hershey’s spoon, 2015
  • Candy Crush (5 designs), 2015
  • Kung Fu Panda 3 (5 designs), 2016
  • Nintendo (5 designs), 2016
  • Trolls (2 designs), 2016
  • 10th Anniversary, 2016
  • Joy (2 designs), 2017
  • Hope (2 designs), 2017
  • I Love Ghirardelli, 2017
  • National Ice Cream Day, flip flop spoon, 2018
  • Waffle Cone, 2019
  • Abominable (2 designs), 2019

Giant Yogurtland Spoons

  • Green
  • Orange
  • Pink
  • Platinum
  • Purple
  • Raspberry
  • Red

“Y” Logo Spoons

  • Berry
  • Green
  • Orange
  • Pink
  • Teal

While the heyday of froyo spoons is over, I’m still hopeful that I'll continueto add to my froyo spoon collection.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Froyo Spoons of 2021

Fro-yo girl here. Froyo spoon collectors, I’ve been tracking the collectible new froyo spoons that were released this year. This year, there were more new froyo spoon designs than last year, but still much fewer than in years past.

Here’s the list:

  • 16 Handles Oatly
  • Menchie’s, purple Cake My Day!
  • Menchie’s, orange Spooktacular Menchie the vampire
  • Yogurtland, teal logo
  • Yogurtland, giant purple spoon
  • Yogurtland, orange logo
  • Yogurtland, giant raspberry spoon

Thanks, Menchie’s and Yogurtland for continuing to release new froyo spoon designs! I also noticed more edible spoons at froyo shops this year, but I don't plan to add those to my spoon collection.

Check out all the fancy froyo spoons on the Pinterest board, Fancy Froyo Spoons.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Froyo Spoons of 2019

Fro-yo girl here. Froyo spoon collectors, I’ve been tracking the collectible new froyo spoons that were released this year in the US and this is the list that I’ve come up with.

  • Menchie’s: Holiday Kiwi/Mellow light blue snowman spoon
  • Menchie’s: Halloween Menchie as a vampire dark blue spoo
  • Menchie’s: Summer Chip as a surfer dark blue spoon
  • sweetFrog: The Very Hungry Caterpillar green caterpillar spoons
  • Yogurtland: Giant orange Yogurtland spoon (given out at the Santa Ana Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Chester Cheetah meet & greet)
  • Yogurtland: Blue Everest and purple Yi Abominable spoons
  • Yogurtland: Waffle cone light purple spoon, coinciding with the launch of their waffle cones
Menchie’s had THREE froyo spoon contests. Love that.

I noticed some new spoons outside the US. Moyo (Mexico and other countries in Latin America) had Abominable spoons and spoons for another cartoon that I didn’t recognize. Llaolao had a special white 10th anniversary spoon.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yogurtland Abominable Froyo Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. Since it’s been three years since Yogurtland came out with new character froyo spoons, I wanted to have a separate post about the new Abominable spoons. There are two designs that are supposed to be in stores on September 2, 2019.

The light blue spoon features the blue yeti named Everest. The light purple spoon features a girl named Yi. The spoons are cute but they feel thinner. The back of the spoon isn’t detailed. It’s hard to hard to make out the designs. They don’t have the biodegradable marking on the back. They’re not as nice as they used to be.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Rarest Froyo Spoons From My Collection

Fro-yo girl here. I recently organized my frozen yogurt spoon collection and in the process, saw some rare froyo spoons that I hadn’t seen for years. I know there are other froyo spoon admirers and collectors out there. This post is dedicated to them.

My rarest froyo spoons:

(1) Fru:yo elephant spoon

Fru:yo Factory had several locations in Hong Kong. At the shop entrance, a giant elephant holding a cup of froyo with his trunk greeted guests. The same elephant is shown on their froyo spoons. I believe all the locations have closed and that the elephant found a new home.

(2) Berry Chill color changing spoon

Long before Pinkberry and Yogurtland opened in the Windy City, Berry Chill was the place to get tart froyo. They even had a cute white bear mascot. They had color changing cups and spoons. Berry Chill gave me my first color changing spoon. The spoon features the Berry Chill logo. Berry Chill opened several locations in Chicago, filed for bankruptcy in 2010, and closed their shops.

(3) Snog spoon

This rare spoon is my only metal froyo spoon. The limited edition Snog spoons were designed by Tomas Alonso of the Royal College of Art. Snog spoons came in one color, hot pink, and they were made out of shiny anodized aluminum. My friend from the UK gave me the spoon.

(4) Menchie’s test spoon

This orange Menchie’s spoon that features Chip was a test spoon for a run of spoons. The test spoons aren’t available in stores. It looks like a test spoon for the brown Chip spoons.

(5) 7 Eleven froyo spoon

In Norway, 7-Eleven locations have self-serve froyo and there’s even a 7-Eleven froyo truck. The 7-Eleven froyo spoons have extra long handles and they’re imprinted with the words, 7-Eleven’s Frozen Yogurt.

(6) Sno:la spoons

These are compostable wooden spoons. The larger one is from their Beverly Hills shop that closed. The smaller one is from their Tokyo shop. Everything is smaller in Japan, or bigger in America.

(7) Tutti Frutti light up spoon

These unusual spoons have a built in light. To activate the light, you have to twist the top of the spoon sideways. These are the only light up spoons in my collection.

(8) Yogurtland original logo spoons

The first Yogurtland logo spoons were clear pink and green. They still had the old logo. Later, they decided to switch to compostable spoons.

(9) Yogurtland 5th anniversary spoon

When Yogurtland turned five in 2011, they handed out the limited edition purple spoon – for one day only!

If you missed my earlier post, I am selling some of my froyo spoons. See

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Mystery of Yogurtland’s Generic Pink Yogurt Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. About three weeks ago, I noticed that my Yogurtland switched to generic pink yogurt spoons. These generic spoons do not say Yogurtland on them. I thought they ran out of spoons and were waiting for a new shipment…however, it’s been three weeks, they still only give out generic pink spoons. Not only that, but I went to another Yogurtland location which only had generic pink spoons.

A quick search on Instagram revealed that most of the recent Yogurtland pictures feature generic pink spoons.

Could this be the end of the Yogurtland’s custom spoons?

The trade war with China is driving up costs of yogurt cups and spoons, according to my packaging source.

Somehow my froyo doesn’t taste as good with a generic spoon, and it certainly doesn’t look as nice. But I do have to ask myself whether I'd rather pay more for froyo or have generic spoons. I guess generic spoons are okay if they have special spoons for campaigns. But what if the Yogurtland cups go away too? Hmm...

In a 2012 interview with Yogurtland founder, Phillip Chang, he said:

"Fifteen million spoons are used a year in our stores. So we made our spoon really substantial. All the customers notice the spoons and they keep them. … They have them in their kitchen drawers.

Chang says the fact that Yogurtland’s signature spoons are reusable makes them “green,” something that he says is important to his business fundamentals.

“I can’t accept something that is used once and thrown away,” he says. “It doesn’t go with my philosophy of frugality.”

Another bonus: “Little kids love the spoon,” Chang says, making the one in the kitchen drawer a constant reminder of Yogurtland."

Speaking of cups, I wonder why Yogurtland is still using the Joy cup design? That Joy promotion was last summer’s promotion. The Joy cups have been around for a year now.

Thanks, Yogurtland, for reaching out to tell me that Yogurtland custom spoons will return. The Joy cup design became the standard cup design because they liked the design so much, but a new cup design will be released in 2019.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Yogurtland Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. I first spotted Yogurtland’s new spoons about two weeks ago. I’ve been seeing them in pictures of other locations in San Diego, Boyle Heights, Claremont, Azusa, Pico Rivera, etc. I found the new spoons at the newest Yogurtland location in Irvine, CA at the Woodbridge Shopping Center.

These are the everyday spoons, not the limited edition spoons that they offer for limited time promotions. The new spoons feature the outline of their “Y” from their logo. The rest of the spoon is similar to the design that’s being replaced, though the new pink spoon is a different shade of pink, one that’s more bluish. The green spoon looks a little darker. The backside of the spoon no longer has fun facts about Yogurtland. The logo outline gives the spoon a more distinctive, recognizable look.

The new spoons are biodegradeable.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Yogurtland Spoons: Watermelon and Mud Pie

Fro-yo girl here. Yogurtland started their new JOY Share the Fun promotion on Monday, June 5. It included two new froyo spoons, Watermelon and Mud Pie. The spoons represent two of the new JOY flavors.

These are the first new limited edition, collectible froyo spoons of 2017. This year has not been a good year for collectible froyo spoons so far; there have been more collectible froyo cup designs than collectible spoons.

The spoons are available at Yogurtland while supplies last.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yogurtland Celebrates DreamWorks Trolls

Fro-yo girl here. Yogurtland’s new holiday promotion started today and it runs through December 21. Yogurtland Celebrates DreamWorks Trolls (a new movie) will include “ten hair-raising flavors,” limited edition Trolls cups, and 2 collectible Trolls spoons.

The promotional flavors and release dates are:

* Poppy’s White Chocolate Raspberry starting October 20

* Creek’s Butterscotch Pudding Gelato starting October 20

* Satin & Chenille’s Blueberry Mangosteen Tart starting October 27

* Cooper’s Caramel Apple starting November 3

* DJ Suki’s Cranberry Raspberry Tart starting November 10

* Biggie’s Frosted Cookie starting November 17

* Branch’s Peanut Butter Caramel starting November 24

* King Peppy’s Chocolate Covered Pretzel starting December 1

* Guy Diamond’s White Chocolate Peppermint starting December 8

* Smidge’s Cinnamon Donut Holes starting December 15

You’ll notice that not all of the flavors are brand new but most are. Also, there’s a new promotional flavor every week. Plus they started the promotion on Thursday rather than Friday. The Yogurtland staff wore Trolls blue t-shirts and visors that had tufts of troll hair - cute.

During my visit I received blue Troll spoons. I think the featured Troll is named Branch. The spoon doesn’t say and his back isn’t detailed. They had the Trolls cups and a new topping, chocolate covered pretzels.

Poppy’s White Chocolate Raspberry is described as “Poppy sings, she dances, and she’s the most insanely happy Troll of all. Duh! That’s what happens when you dig into this decadent flavor that blends real white chocolate and raspberries all in one spoonful.” It’s a lowfat flavor. The raspberry flavor is stronger than the white chocolate but the white chocolate mellows the raspberry. The raspberry isn’t tart at all. Recommended toppings: granola, raspberries, white chocolate chips.

Creek’s Butterscotch Pudding Gelato is described as, “The sweet, buttery flavor of butterscotch and the creaminess of pudding pair perfectly in this decadent gelato by Creek, so you can experience just how delicious life can be.” Their gelato has live and active cultures. The creamy flavor tastes like sweet butterscotch without being cloyingly sweet. Recommended toppings: almonds, cheesecake, graham cracker crumbs

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Looking for New 16 Handles Spoons and Other Froyo Spoons

Fro-yo girl here. 16 Handles recently introduced two new froyo spoon designs, a heart topped spoon and a froyo cup topped spoon in two colors, pink and green. I’m looking to trade some of my current froyo spoons or purchase the four 16 Handles summer spoons.

I am also looking for the following froyo spoons:

  • Joji space girl spoon from Florida
  • Land of Plenty spoons from Germany
  • Moyo spoons from Mexico (the top of the spoon looks like a snow monster/yeti)
  • Qoola bear spoons
  • Sour Sally green hand spoon
  • Yogen Fruz spoons with cut out smile/U shape
  • Yoppi Hello Kitty spoons from Taiwan

If you think you have some nice froyo spoons that I haven’t mentioned but might be interested in, let me know. I have almost every Yogurtland and Menchie’s collectible spoon.

Yogurtland & Nintendo Game On New Spoon & New Flavor: Yoshi’s Honeydew & Yoshi Spoon

Fro-yo girl here. There’s a new Nintendo froyo flavor at Yogurtland stores today: Yoshi’s Honeydew. According to the flavor card, “Honeydew melons are sweet, juicy, delicious and packed with vitamin C, just like Yoshi’s creamy honeydew flavor yogurt.” Yoshi’s Honeydew froyo is non-fat, gluten free and vitamin C fortified.

* Yoshi’s Honeydew: The yogurt was very thick and creamy (and yes, it’s non-fat). It does taste like honeydew melon (and the honeydew flavor is strong, there wasn’t any natural tangy yogurt flavor) and it’s sweet but it had a bitter gum like aftertaste that might have been the guar gum. It’s also strange to experience a creamy, rich honeydew dessert. Maybe a sorbet would have been better? Multiple people told me that they really like the Yoshi's Honeydew so it could just be my sensitivity to guar gum. Recommended toppings: Popping boba, honeydew, mochi

The new green Yoshi spoons are adorable. The spoon only shows part of Yoshi.

Yoshi’s Honeydew is available while supplies last. The next new flavor is Goomba’s Iced Coffee which comes out on July 22.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Yogurtland Kung Fu Panda 3 Spoons: Tigress

Fro-yo girl here. The new Tigress spoons, part of Yogurtland’s Flavor Pandamonium collectible Kung Fu Panda 3 spoons have arrived. The fourth of five new froyo spoon designs features Tigress’ face on an orange spoon. The back of the spoon says Kung Fu Panda 3. Tigress’ flavor, Big Pop Sorbet, is a returning favorite. The sorbet’s colors are similar to Tigress.

The last spoon, Master Shifu’s green spoon, arrives on February 15.

Don't forget that next Monday, Feb. 8th, is Yogurtland's National Frozen Yogurt Day celebration, free froyo and toppings from 4-7 PM. Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake will return along with Hershey's toppings.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Yogurtland Kung Fu Panda 3 Spoons: Bao

Fro-yo girl here. New collectible Kung Fu Panda 3 spoons have arrived at Yogurtland. The third of five new froyo spoon designs, Bao, features Bao’s face on a yellow spoon. The back of the spoon says Kung Fu Panda 3.

Two more spoons will be released: Tigress’ orange spoon (February 1) and Master Shifu’s green spoon (February 15).
