Aniimo’s Froyo Truck Pop-Up in Downtown Los Angeles

Fro-yo girl here. Aniimoi s a new creature-catching game that just launched. To celebrate the global launch of Aniimoi, the Aniimo froyo truck visited Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles on September 16 – 17. Guests enjoyed a free mini cup of White Vanilla Aniimazing frozen yogurt. The yogurt was pale blue in color but tasted like a very sweet vanilla. It was adorned with a custom wafer with the Aniimo image.

They were also handing out postcards with codes for a special gift (to be redeemed in-game).

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Free Froyo Event for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland at Menchie’s

Fro-yo girl here. Thanks to Disney+, Descendants: Wicked Wonderalnd, and Menchie’s for today’s free froyo event. I went to Menchie’s in Burbank, CA, for the event, because I know that they’re always organized. One employee handed out 50 slips of paper to the first fifty guests. It was a hot day, and people were lined up well before 3 PM. The first five ounces were free.

They had the new red and blue Menchie’s spoons too.

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is now streaming. It’s a teen fantasy series.

Purely Elizabeth Protein Froyo Stop Event

Fro-yo girl here. I’ve always thought that Abbot Kinney Blvd, needed froyo (yes, it did have Pinkberry briefly in 2007), and today, Purely Elizabeth brought the froyo for the launch of their new line of protein granola. The PE protein froyo stop featured a menu of free treats.

The choices:

• Berry Obsessed: PE almond butter & berries protein granola, Go Greek Greek honey froyo, strawberries, raspberries, Greek honey drizzle, wafer
• Cinnamon Toast: PE cinnamon toast protein granola, Go Greek Greek honey froyo, Greek honey drizzle, wafer
• Chocolate Fix: PE dark chocolate blueberry protein granola, Go Greek Greek honey froyo, blueberries, shaved chocolate, wafer

The granola was the best part. The granola had crunchy clusters. It was sweet but balanced by a bit of salt. The honey and the frozen yogurt were very sweet. I chose the Chocolate Fix because the honey drizzle wasn’t listed on the menu, but my froyo still had a honey drizzle. The frozen yogurt was too soft and melted quickly as well.

Purely Elizabeth Protein Granola is available in three flavors: Almond Butter & Berries; Cinnamon Toast; Dark Chocolate Blueberry

They were also giving away PE protein granola samples and offering a chance to win cute merch. I won a PE keychain with a strawberry, French toast, and a froyo cone.

The PE Protein Shop will be open tomorrow from 11 AM – 4 PM at 1525 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA. The first 50 guests will receive a Purely Elizabeth gift.

Everyone is invited to enter the contest to win a free year of Purely Elizabeth granola by entering online.

You can find Purely Elizabeth granola at Target and purchase it online at purelyelizabeth.com.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

SWRLIES Celebrates 7 Years of Drilling with Free Froyo

Fro-yo girl here. SWRLIES celebrated seven years in business with a generous giveaway of free hand-drilled ice cream or froyo to the first 150 guests and free gifts for the first 30 guests. The gift was a cute SWRLIES canvas tote bag and a SWRLIES sticker. The tote bag does mention froyo. During today’s event, guests could choose any of the five menu items.

I selected La Toxica, a blend of strawberries and pineapple blended into SWRLIE’S tart froyo, topped with chamoy and Tajin. It was the only froyo item on the menu.

SWRLIES was parked at 5050 York Blvd, in Highland Park, Los Angeles. The owner grew up in Highland Park and wanted to bring Mexican-inspired ice cream and froyo to the community. The yogurt base is made in-house and blended to order with fruit.

SWRLIES caters. Follow Swrlies on Instagram, @swrlies

December at Menchie’s

Fro-yo girl here. I’m back from Menchie’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians Season 2 celebration. At 3 PM today, the first 50 guests at Menchie’s across the country received 5 oz of free froyo. Thanks Disney/Hulu and Menchie’s. Season 2 of Percy Jackson & the Olympians premieres today on Disney+ and hulu.

To celebrate the premiere, Menchie’s created a new flavor, Percy Jackson’s No Sugar Added Blue Raspberry froyo. Described as “a sweet blue raspberry fruity flavor with a slight tartness,” NSA Blue Raspberry froyo is made with no artificial flavors or artificial colors. It tasted like sweet blue raspberry candy. While the texture was creamy, it was also slightly gritty. I didn’t like it. Recommended toppings: fresh berries and white chocolate chips.

I also spotted new Percy Jackson & the Olympians cups. The other side of the cup features a holiday scene with Menchie and Chip.

The other featured flavor this month is White Peppermint Bark froyo, made with Hershey’s Premier White Chips. White peppermint bark froyo was first introduced in 2016, but it might not have been made with Hershey’s back then. I liked this creamy flavor better – the white chocolate muted the peppermint, so it wasn’t overwhelming minty. The texture was creamy. Recommended toppings: I didn’t see any peppermint candies, so I recommend adding white chocolate chips, waffle chips, and roasted almonds for crunch.

Menchie’s is also offering a free $5 bonus card with a purchase of $25 or more in Menchie’s gift cards.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Menchie’s x Disney’s Zombies 4 Event

Fro-yo girl here. Thank you, Disney’s Zombies, for another free froyo event. Zombies 3 was supposed to be the final installment of the Zombies movie series, but the Zombies are back for Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, now streaming on Disney+.

The first 50 guests at Menchie’s locations at 3 PM on July 10 received five ounces of free froyo. Menchie’s in Burbank handled the crowd in an organized fashion, handing out slips of paper to the first 50 guests. I also spotted Zombies 4 posters, cups, and a flavor, No Sugar Added Chocolate.

In Zombies 4, Zed, a zombie, and Addison, a human cheerleader, become camp counselors to two rival factions, Daywalkers and Vampires.

Menchie’s New Mystery Swirls Flavors, Contest, & Free Froyo

Fro-yo girl here. It’s a busy month at Menchie’s. Let’s start with the new Mystery Swirls, both of which are sorbets. Menchie’s usually introduces new sorbet flavors during July.

There are two mystery flavors, Razzle Dazzle sorbet and Snazzy Jazzy sorbet. Based on the names alone, I would have guessed that Razzle Dazzle would be a raspberry flavor and Snazzy Jazz would be an apple flavor. But looking at the color, my guess would be the other way around.

Razzle Dazzle sorbet: It definitely tasted like green apple sorbet and had a nice tang.

Snazzy Jazzy sorbet: The flavor wasn’t as distinctive, but I’m guessing that it’s watermelon. If you told me it was a berry flavor, I wouldn’t be totally surprised.

Razzle Dazzle sorbet tasted better. Both sorbets are made without artificial colors or artificial flavors, are gluten-free, and contain no high fructose corn syrup.

The new Mystery Swirls contest gives Menchie’s guests a chance to win free gift cards and free Menchie’s merch. To enter, visit Menchie’s in July and take a picture with Menchie’s Mystery Swirls photo frame. Post the picture on Instagram with the tag #MenchiesMysterySwirls.

Save the date for free froyo and the premiere of the Disney Channel’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. To get your free froyo, visit Menchie’s on Thursday, July 10th. The first 50 guests at 3pm will get their five ounces free.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Menchie’s Disney Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Free Froyo Event

Fro-yo girl here. Disney Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is now streaming on the Disney Channel and will be available tomorrow on Disney+. Thanks to the new movie, Menchie’s had a free froyo event on October 29 at 3 PM. The first 29 guests in line received a free trick-or-treat bag and 5 ounces of free froyo.

I went to the Menchie’s in Burbank because they’ve been very organized during previous free froyo events (other locations are not so organized). This was a smart move because they were organized again, handing out 29 slips of paper to the first 29 guests.

The trick-or-treat bag was a plastic bag with an image from Wizards Beyond Waverly Place on one side and a cup of Menchie’s froyo on the other side.

I’m having a hard time finding the new Falling for Froyo Chip spoons, but I’ll keep looking. I’m going to finish the Smile Challenge app game tomorrow.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yoga-urt Granada Hills Grand Opening on August 3

Fro-yo girl here. Save the date for Yoga-urt Granada Hills grand opening celebration, Saturday, August 3.

• Grand opening date and time: 1 PM – 10 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2024
• Location: 17454 Chatsworth Street #A, Granada Hills, CA 91344
• Details: Free mini froyo cups with one topping for the first 50 store visitors, two dollars off all birthday cake shakes. They’ll also have mini popsicles for a limited time

Choose from six scratch-made froyo flavors a day, as well as smoothies, floats, froyo sandwiches, froyo popsicles, etc.

Yoga-urt soft serve is vegan, kosher, soy free, gluten-free, all-natural, probiotic, hand-crafted, small batch, and made on site. The gluten-free cones and sauces are also made in-house with proprietary recipes. For toppings, choose from fresh fruit, mochi, sprinkles, nuts, granola, coconut, mulberries, cacao nibs, and housemade sauces.

My favorite flavors are Pistachio Passion, True Tahini, Sweet Greens, and Vanilla Harmony. My favorite sauce is the chocolate shell. And my favorite toppings are pistachios and turmeric granola. The extra crispy cones are the best.

Free Froyo Descendants Event at Menchie’s

Fro-yo girl here. Thanks to Disney+, Descendants: The Rise of Red, and Menchie’s for today’s free froyo event. I went to Menchie’s in Burbank, CA, for the event, and I was impressed by how organized they were. There were two employees and they handed out slips of paper to the first 50 guests. There was quite a crowd, so you had to pretty much be there before or right around 3 PM to be one of the first fifty.

Descendants: The Rise of Red is streaming now.

Complete them this month and you’ll receive a $5 Menchie’s credit and be entered to win prizes. Twelve winners will be selected. Some of the challenges require you to scan your Menchie’s app when you make a purchase, so remember to scan.

I also spotted new a Smile Challenge cup design. On one side it says Smile Challenge and on the other it shows the Descendants Strawberry froyo and a picture from the Descendants movie.

Fan favorite Vegan Oatly Vanilla is back. It’s a creamy, rich, plant-based flavor made with Oatly oat milk. To celebrate, Menchie’s is giving away Oatly merch prize packages. Golden Spoon Grand Opening in Tustin

Fro-yo girl here. I attended my first froyo shop grand opening of 2024 today, April 7, at Golden Spoon in Tustin, California. Golden Spoon was founded in Tustin in 1983 by Jeff Barnes, so it’s nice to see it return to its place of origin.

For the grand opening, guests were treated to free minis (up to two flavors, with toppings) from 12 PM – 1 PM. Choose from ten froyo flavors a day. There was one non-dairy and one no sugar added option offered today. I also spotted milkshake machines, though I didn’t see shakes on the menu today. The number of toppings offered was typical for a froyo shop. There were a few warm sauces offered.

Prices: Mini ($4.75)/ Regular ($5.75)/ Large ($6.75)/ Quart ($15.50)

The mini was a generous size and the yogurt texture was smooth and thick. The shop had a soft opening last week. It looked new and clean inside.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Menchie’s Free Froyo Candy Cane Lane Event & New Holiday Cup

Fro-yo girl here. Thank you, Candy Cane Lane, for sponsoring Menchie’s froyo giveaway on Friday, December 8. The first 50 guests at participating Menchie’s received 5 oz of free froyo.

Candy Cane Lane is a new holiday movie starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross that’s now streaming on Prime Video. Eddie Murphy plays Chris, a man on a mission to win the neighborhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest.

I also picked up the new Menchie’s holiday cups. The cups are red and feature Menchie, Chip, Mookie, and Sprinkle. It says Happy Holidays on one side and on the other, there’s a holiday to-do list. The to-do list doesn’t mention froyo. There are no new Menchie’s holiday spoons this year.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
