Froyo Scene in Danville, CA

Fro-yo girl here. With Cuppa Yo opening in Danville in March, I decided to take a look at the history of froyo in Danville, CA. Danville is located in Contra Costa County, about 30 miles east of San Francisco. The current population of 44,000 residents has a median age of 45.4 years and a median household income over $230,000. It was recently ranked #1 by SafeWise’s California’s Safest Cities of 2026 report.

I found two current froyo shops, both self-serve, and a Greek casual chain that offers frozen yogurt. The three froyo shops that closed were all self-serve franchise concepts. Tutti Frutti was the first self-serve froyo shop in Danville.

Places to Get Froyo

  • Cuppa Yo, 730 Camino Ramon Suite 190, opened March 2026. It is part of a self-serve frozen yogurt franchise founded in Bend, Oregon.
  • Nick the Greek, 121 Hartz Ave, opened in 2023. It is a fast casual Greek café with many locations, Greek froyo served
  • Yogurt Shack, 290 Hartz Ave, is an outpost of a local self-serve chain. It opened in 2016, replacing Danville Desserts

Closed Froyo Shops

  • Tutti Frutti, 37 Railroad Ave, a branch of the multi-national self-serve chain, opened in 2009 and closed in 2016. It was replaced by Uji Time, the Asian soft serve chain.
  • Tuttimelon, Blackhawk Shopping Plaza 3454 Blackhawk Rd, opened at the Blackhawk Shopping Plaza in April 2010 and closed a year later.
  • Yogofina, 11000 Crow Canyon Rd, opened in 2010 and closed in 2013. Yogofina is a local self-serve chain. It still has a few locations. I visited in 2010.

Not Closed, Stopped Serving Froyo

  • Costco, 3150 Fostoria Way #21b, used to serve froyo but replaced it with soft serve ice cream.

Did I miss any froyo shops or businesses serving froyo in Gilroy? Let me know.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
