Menchie’s February Flavors & Promotions
Fro-yo girl here. This February, Menchie’s has two returning featured flavors:
Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolate Froyo tastes just like Hershey’s Kisses. And it’s also the perfect flavor for Valentine’s Day. The yogurt is gluten-free and made with no artificial colors and no high fructose corn syrup. Recommended toppings: mini Hershey’s Kisses, white chocolate chips, Special Dark chocolate chips, and brownies.
Gourmet Peanut Butter Gelato was introduced last year, and I’m glad to see it return. It’s very smooth and creamy. Pure peanut butter deliciousness. The gelato is gluten-free and is made with no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial colors, and no artificial flavors. It’s made with peanut butter and contains live and active cultures. Recommended toppings: Butterfinger, Peanut M&Ms, and chopped peanuts.
While National Frozen Yogurt Day, 2/6, is over, you can still earn double smiles on all purchases when you scan the Menchie’s app from Feb. 7 – 20.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

National Froyo Day Recap
Fro-yo girl here. Happy National Froyo Day! What a day!
It started yesterday at Pinkberry, since Pinkberry’s National Froyo Day BOGO free offer for Pinkcard members was from Feb. 4 – 6. I went to the Pinkberry in Los Feliz, and the employee knew about the offer. I didn’t see any NFYD signs. I got another cup of Yuzu Meringue froyo, the seasonal flavor, and Pomegranate froyo. The Yuzu Meringue froyo is nice but not as tangy as most of their tart flavors.
Today, 2/6, I went to Yogurtland Eagle Rock in the early afternoon because they had matcha froyo. Love matcha froyo. I also appreciate how Yogurtland announced the NFYD deal, BOGO free, weeks in advance. And they had one small NFYD sign at the shop.
In the afternoon, I went to Menchie’s Valley Village for the BOGO free offer. Menchie also was there at the top of the hour (every hour) for a meet and greet. Or at least I think he was? I waited for ten minutes at 5 PM and didn’t see Menchie. But, I was happy that Valley Village had the February featured flavors, peanut butter gelato and Hershey’s Kisses. And they had multiple NFYD signs.
I thought it would also be interesting to look back at NFYD in 2015. Back in 2015, Yogurtland celebrated NFYD on Feb. 2. They had free mini froyos, two new froyo flavors (York Peppermint Pattie and Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake), new toppings (York Peppermint Patties Minis and Hershey's Mini Kisses), free froyo, and a limited edition Hershey's collectible spoon. Menchie’s celebrated NFYD on February 6 with 6 oz of free froyo. Those were the good old froyo days!
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

le zette Launches Not Baaad Sheep’s Milk Frozen Yogurt
During the pop-up, I sampled two flavors and took home a pint of sheep’s milk froyo for $15. They’ve tested a variety of flavors but during the pop-up, the two available flavors were Hot Honey Cardamom Crunch and Vanilla Bean & Olive Oil.
Both were super flavorful, complex, and tangy. The texture was smooth, creamy, and dense, without being too hard. They’re made with le zette’s own sheep’s milk yogurt.
Hot Honey Cardamom Crunch froyo had a lot going on, flavor-wise. It wasn’t cloyingly sweet. I could taste the cardamom (love cardamom) and I’ve never had it with hot honey, which is a bit spicy.
I took home a pint of the Vanilla Bean & Olive Oil froyo, made with sheep’s milk yogurt, organic cane sugar, olive oil, and salt. And I assume vanilla – but this wasn’t listed on the packaging. I could see and taste the vanilla bean. The olive oil was slightly fruity and it added complexity to every bite. The texture was a little chewy. It might benefit from a bit of air or some type of stabilizer. Plus, while it was very tangy, I found it a bit sweeter than I prefer.
Sheep’s milk yogurt has probiotics and protein. I didn’t see any specifics but sheep’s milk is higher in fat and protein than cow milk. It’s also easier to digest (less lactose) and more flavorful.
I loved meeting the maker and giving my feedback on the froyo. I’m excited to try other Not Baaad flavors and le zette products. I think their goal is to get Not Baaad into specialty grocery stores and bodegas like their other products.

Survey of Los Angeles Froyo Prices
Menchie's Valley Village
Yogurtland Century City
