Trader Joe’s Avocado Citrus Yogurt Review

Fro-yo girl here. I normally like Trader Joe’s yogurt, so I was intrigued by their new product, Avocado Citrus Greek whole milk yogurt. They blended avocados and blood orange juice concentrate into yogurt.

A 5.3 oz cup is 99 cents. One serving has 190 calories, 8g fat, and 15g sugars.

The first thing that came to mind was guacamole, so I expected a savory flavor. However, Avocado Citrus is a sweet yogurt. The first thing I tasted was the blood orange but the flavor is muted by the avocado. The tang was mild. It wasn’t unpleasant but I don’t think the avocado enhanced the flavor though. The avocado made the texture thicker but I didn’t appreciate that either.

Ingredients: Grade A pasteurized milk (cultured pasteurized skim milk, pasteurized cream), avocado citrus base (avocado, cane sugar, water, blood orange juice concentrate, natural flavors, modified cornstarch, turmeric and fruit juice for color, ascorbic acid, citric acid), live and active cultures.

3 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
