Tuttimelon Burlingame Grand Opening Coverage

Fro-yo girl here. Tuttimelon's expansion continues (yay) and today marked the grand opening of Tuttimelon Burlingame. Tuttimelon Bear and I were there early to catch all the action. The Burlingame location is self-serve (38 cents an ounce, 8 fro-yo machines) with fro-yo and sorbet/gelato, limited seating, the white wavy wall, reddish-orange brick like tiles, and the lacy white globes.

People lined up outside and the doors opened a little after noon. They let in 5 people at a time for awhile and the first 20 received a black or white limited edition Tuttimelon tee (with the flocked logo - this design was given out at the last few Tuttimelon grand openings). The first people to enter were a mother and son from Pacifica. Guests received a small cup which they could fill to their liking - the fro-yo and toppings were free from 12 - 2 PM. The afternoon was surprisingly warm (fro-yo weather).

I didn't witness the raffle this time around but if you're curious, check out Tuttimelon's Facebook page - they usually have photos from their grand openings there. The grand prize was an iPod Nano and they also gave away iPod Shuffles. I scored a special Tuttimelon black polo shirt with orange accents - the shirt designed for Tuttimelon managers. It's so cute - their logo is embroidered on the collar. Mr. Tuttimelon was wearing one today.

I shared a cup of peach and pomegranate fro-yo with Tuttimelon Bear. The fro-yo flavors of the day were: (1) original tart, (2) blueberry tart, (3) strawberry tart, (4) mango tart, (5) pomegranate tart, (6) vanilla, (7) chocolate, and (8) peach tart. We're really digging the peach tart these days.

They had a dozen gelato and sorbet flavors and cones. I didn't see the Sumo Bowl.

Thank you, Tuttimelon and congratulations!

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Tuttimelon Valley Fair Grand Opening Coverage

Fro-yo girl here. Tuttimelon Bear and I headed down to Valley Fair early today for the grand opening of the new Tuttimelon flagship location. People were already waiting in line an hour before it opened (the first 50 received exclusive new Tuttimelon t-shirts and a turn at spinning the prize wheel). The Truly Tuttilicious shirts came in white and pink with a flocked Tuttimelon logo (I received a special black t-shirt). The t-shirts were very nice American Apparel tees.

The scene was hectic because the fro-yo machines weren't cooperating but the Taylor technician showed up on his day off and soon the free fro-yo began to flow...for two hours a diverse group of people had the chance to spin the wheel (prizes included gelato, the Sumo bowl, $5 Tuttimelon gift cards) and help themselves to free fro-yo and toppings (as much as they could fit in the small cup). One family won two Sumo bowls. There were some hilarious pictures taken of people with their giant Sumo bowls, overflowing with fro-yo. The first person in line was a guy with long hair. Some people just kept coming back for more fro-yo!

I was lucky enough to help out a bit, making most of the labels for the toppings and chatting with the shop owners and the rest of the Tuttimelon family (including Mr. Tuttimelon, Roy, of course). Their new location has 10 fro-yo flavors a day at 38 cents and a case filled with Tuttimelon gelato and sorbet (including creme brulee, black sesame).

Fro-yo flavors of the day:
* Vanilla
* Chocolate
* Egg nog
* Strawberry tart
* Acai blueberry tart
* Original tart
* Almond tart
* Taro tart
* Pomegranate tart

At 2:15 PM, the prize raffle began. The first person won $20 in TM gift cards. The next prize was $30 in TM gift cards. Next up was a blender of all things. It's good for smoothies I guess. The crowd was excited about the Wii Sport and PS3 (more so than the blender); a guy won the Wii Sport. The grand prize was the Playstation 3.

I love that Tuttimelon has such wonderful tart flavors. Most self-serve shops don't have enough tart flavors and/or their tart flavors are too icy and don't taste like real fro-yo.

Congratulations Tuttimelon and thank you for such a wonderful grand opening event!

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Tuttimelon SOMA SF Grand Opening on 11/11

Fro-yo girl here. I'm hearing rumors that there will indeed be free fro-yo from noon - 2 PM and raffle prizes at Tuttimelon's grand opening event this Wednesday. The festivities start at noon. It's their second self-serve location in SF. Spread the word, Tutti fans!

I hope they have almond tart fro-yo there...and I want to try the new rose fro-yo. I still need to try their pumpkin fro-yo too.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Tuttimelon Stoneridge Shopping Center Pictures

Fro-yo girl here. Don’t forget, Tuttifans, that Tuttimelon Fairfield is having a grand opening celebration tomorrow. The event begins at noon. The Fairfield location is the first Tuttimelon within a shopping mall (Westfield Solano) and it’s self-serve.

It looks like it won’t be long before Tuttimelon opens in Pleasanton at Stoneridge Mall. It’s upstairs by JC Penney and a new, not yet opened Cinnabon. I wonder how a warm cinnamon bun would taste with tuttilicious fro-yo on top?

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Tuttimelon’s First SF Self-Serve Location

Fro-yo girl here. Call me sentimental, but I can’t bear the thought of the original Tuttimelon location on Irving closing. I love that location. It’s still my favorite. Well, they’re adding a self-serve location on Irving St. It’s taking over the old Chinese jewelry store. I went inside that shop before and it didn’t seem that spacious? I swung by Tuttimelon Irving to talk to J. (he wasn’t there) and stock up on mango tart fro-yo (still an astounding 99 cents!).

Maybe they can keep the original location open for full serve diehards like me? Or have the option of having someone swirl for you at the self-serve place? I’m sure the new location will live up to the Tuttimelon standards, people will love it, and they’ll dazzle us with tuttiliciousness. Two more weeks to wait and then all will be revealed. But who will serve me? And what will happen to J’s swirling skills?

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
