New Summer Pac-Man Flavors at Yogurtland, Pac-Man Cups, and New Toppings

Fro-yo girl here. It’s summertime at Yogurtland and they just launched a new promotion with the iconic video game brand PAC-MAN from Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc.

Let’s start with the limited-edition flavors inspired by PAC-MAN.

CHERRY Chomp Sorbet
is “inspired by PAC-MAN's unstoppable munching, this refreshing sorbet offers a burst of citrus that complements the sweetness of cherries.” The nonfat flavor is gluten-free and made with real cherries. It was smooth, sweet but not tangy, and refreshing. The cherry flavor was prominent. The citrus burst tasted like lime. It reminded me of Cherry ICEEs but hopefully with a lot less food color. Recommended toppings: fresh berries, mochi.

Pineapple POWER-UP Sorbet
is described as “the perfect PAC-MAN POWER-UP for a hot summer day, with its vibrant fusion of sweet mango and tart pineapple.” This is a returning flavor. It was introduced last summer under the name of Pineapple Mango sorbet. I could taste the pineapple and the mango. The mango makes is sweeter. It wasn’t tangy. Recommended toppings: popping boba, PAC-MAN gummies

I already told you about the new PAC-MAN, blue ghost, and red ghost spoons. But I didn’t know that the ghosts had names. The red ghost is Blinky and the blue ghost is Inky.

I spotted one of the two limited edition PAC-MAN cup designs. The black cup features a maze, four ghosts, and PAC-MAN eating a cup of Yogurtland froyo. The other cup design shows PAC-MAN eating a cherry.

The new PAC-MAN gummies are pineapple-flavored. They’re pretty firm and chewy. I also spotted gummy cherries.

There’s a new exclusive online treat called the Waka Waka Cup which features Pineapple POWER-UP sorbet topped with gummy PAC-MAN, gummy cherries, and mango popping boba. You can only get it by ordering it online from yogurtland.com or the Yogurtland app.

Also, look for Yogurtland x PAC-MAN sticker sheets. And you can purchase limited edition Yogurtland x PAC-MAN t-shirts and caps from Yogurtland’s merchandise site.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Menchie’s October Feature Flavor, Pumpkin Spice made with Nilla Wafers & a New Cup

Fro-yo girl here. Menchie’s has a new pumpkin flavor this month: Pumpkin Spice froyo made with Nilla Wafers! Also, there’s a new cup design for a new animated movie from Sony Pictures called Connected. And Menchie’s in Valley Village (Los Angeles, CA) had Halloween decorations and Halloween froyo cakes.

As for Pumpkin Spice froyo, it’s made with real Nilla Wafers and cinnamon and has no artificial colors. And it’s lowfat. Nilla Wafers are pretty mild but I like them. Pumpkin Spice froyo seemed sweeter and milder to me (vs. Menchie’s Harvest Pumpkin) though I could taste the warm spice. It’s not as gingery or spicy as Harvest Pumpkin. The creamy mildness was quite pleasant. Recommended toppings: Nilla Wafers, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Heath.

The Connected Cups and Pumpkin Spice froyo are available for a limited time, while supplies last. Menchie’s Valley Village is still full service.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yogurtland’s Hope Promotion Begins

Fro-yo girl here. Yogurtland launched its new Hope promotion today. The Hope promotion which runs from August 7 to October 1, features five new handcrafted flavors, two new limited edition spoons, limited edition cups, and new toppings. During the promotional period, Yogurtland will also collect donations for three charities that it supports, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Exodus Cry and Rescuing Lives.

During my visit, I spotted two new flavors, Banana Toffee Pie and Lava Cake Gelato, a new topping (Coconut Caramel Cookies), two new spoons, and the Hope cups. The new 3D spoons are nice and hefty. It’s cute how the Yogurtland symbol has been incorporated into flower designs.

New flavors (and release dates):

  • Blissful Banana Toffee Pie (8/7): This lowfat flavor is made with real banana and graham crackers. It’s inspired by Banoffee Pie from England. Bananas are my least favorite food in the world, so while I tried this flavor, I can’t say much about it other than the warm toffee is a nice edition. Recommended toppings: almonds, whipped cream, toffee bits.
  • Molten Lava Cake Gelato (8/7): This cultured gelato flavor is inspired by the French soufflĂ© and made with two different cocoas and shortbread cookies. It’s rich and has a cake flavor that chocolate lovers will appreciate. Recommended toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shell, coconut caramel cookies.
  • Spicy Sweet Chili Mango Sorbet (8/21)
  • Simply Sublime Pear Tart (9/4)
  • Perfectly Roasted Pistachio Almond (9/18)

New toppings:

  • Chocolate covered sunflower seeds
  • Coconut Caramel Cookies

New spoons:

  • Pink flowerpot
  • Yellow sunflower

New cups:

  • Hope Cup
  • Donation Cup

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Here’s the official press release from Yogurtland:

As a tribute to the popular combination in Mexico, this flavor brings together Alphonso mango with hints of red chili and lemon flavors. This refreshing flavor delivers the perfect balance of sweet and spice in every spoonful.

- Simply Sublime Pear Tart- Reminiscent of the Asian pear, this scratch-made flavor will be offered in stores beginning September 4. Starting with a pear puree made with Bartlett pears, this flavor mimics sweet, fresh, and ripe in every spoonful. This tart based flavor will have froyo enthusiasts feeling as though they are biting into a deliciously ripe pear.

Fruity bright strawberry with cake and whipped cream notes combine for a deliciously sweet treat!” It has shortcake cookie crumb and condensed milk. I found it to be very strawberry ice cream like. Homegrown Watermelon Sorbet is gluten free, dairy free and nonfat. It’s made with real watermelon. The flavor is described as, “A sweet, fresh and fruity flavor. The Angry Birds Movie Spoons Arrive at Menchie’s

Fro-yo girl here. Froyo spoon collectors, make room in your drawer for a new batch of collectible, limited time only froyo spoons from Menchie’s. Menchie’s will release five limited edition spoon designs featuring different characters from the Angry Birds Movie. There will be a new spoon released every week. Here’s the schedule:

  • Red (May 15)
  • Pig (May 22)
  • Bomb (May 29)
  • Matilda (June 5)
  • Chuck (June 12)

For the promotion they also have four new flavors: Strawberry Smoothie Sorbet and Freshly Squeezed Orange Sorbet in May and Fresh Lime Sorbet and Strawberry Greek in June. Top them with Angry Birds fruit snacks. I picked up one Angry Birds cup design and still need the other one.

Is it just me or does the Red spoon look funny because when you turn it over, you don’t see the back of Red? I'm not used to seeing a face on both sides of the spoon.

Some of the flavors are designated as the favorite of certain Angry Birds. Matilda’s favorite is Strawberry Smoothie Sorbet, Red’s favorite is Freshly Squeezed Orange Sorbet, Bomb’s favorite is Vanilla Snow and Chuck’s favorite is Pure Chocolate.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Flavors Arrive at Menchie’s Inspired by The Angry Birds Movie

Fro-yo girl here. Happy National Orange Juice Day 2016! It also seems like the perfect day to talk about the new Menchie’s flavor that I just tried, Freshly Squeezed Orange Sorbet. It’s part of the new Angry Birds Movie promotion at Menchie’s.

Finding the two newest flavors, Strawberry Smoothie Sorbet and Freshly Squeezed Orange Sorbet, in my area hasn’t been easy. Several locations are waiting for other flavors to run out before offering the new flavors. And the Menchie’s app doesn’t have a flavor finder nor do those locations regularly update their Facebook page. Sigh.

The Freshly Squeezed Orange Sorbet tastes like orange juice concentrate – the orange flavor is quite intense. Yogurt would mellow out the flavor (everything’s better with yogurt).

Recommended toppings: Whipped topping, strawberries, white chocolate chips

I haven’t seen the two new Angry Birds cup designs yet but I did get some Angry Birds stickers. The Menchie’s that I visited had Angry Birds gummy toppings. The employee had a Red (the bird) t-shirt on.

Two new flavors will be introduced during the promotion, fresh lime sorbet and strawberry greek during June. Birds seem to prefer sorbet.

The new spoons should start arriving on May 15th with five Angry Birds represented.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
