2021 Halloween Froyo Shop Spirit Award

Fro-yo girl here. Happy Froyo Halloween! Every Halloween, I love seeing froyo shops showing their Halloween spirit. There’s so much they can do: special flavors, shop decorations, Halloween froyo cakes, Halloween toppings, spooky cones, costume contests, Halloween parties, Halloween specials, and more.

Every year I also like to recognize the froyo shop (or chain) with the most Halloween spirit. Last year, the winner was Pinkberry Japan for their Monster Swirls.

This year’s winner is…Menchie’s (again). It wasn’t close. Menchie’s had a new Halloween Spooktacular froyo spoon (Menchie dressed as Dracula), an Addams Family 2 contest and collab for 20% off your first Menchie’s DoorDash order, and they brought back Harvest Pumpkin froyo. That’s a lot!

Menchie’s 2018 Halloween Color Changing Spoons

My World Smile Day visit to Menchie’s was a bust because the location that I went to did not have any of the three October feature flavors or the color changing collectible Halloween spoons. I’ve tried all the feature flavors before, so I’m not too concerned about finding those, but I have been in a frenzy trying to collect all 4 color changing spoons before the Menchie’s shops around here run out. I keep running into blue rock star and pink wizard spoons, but not pink rock star and blue wizard spoons. Hmm.

The four spoons all feature the mascot, Menchie. The Menchie wizard spoon comes in pink and blue. The Menchie rock star spoon comes in pink and blue. If the designs look familiar to you, Menchie’s did have wizard and rock star color changing spoons in 2015. Back in 2015, the wizard spoon came in green and the rock star spoon came in pink. In other words, the pink and blue wizard spoons are NEW and the blue rock star spoon is NEW.

2016 Froyo Shop Halloween Spirit Award Winner Announced

Fro-yo girl here. Happy Froyo Halloween! Halloween is my favorite holiday and during Halloween season, I’m always on the lookout for Halloween spirit at froyo shops. Each year I’ll pick out a froyo shop (or froyo chain) for showing the most Halloween spirit.

The previous winners were:

2013: Menchie’s

2014: 16 Handles

2015: Wakaberry

Last year’s winner, Wakaberry, had a Halloween promotion with the new movie, Hotel Transylvania 2. They had Halloween cups, flavors, toppings, and a contest with Halloween prizes.

This year, 16 Handles has a limited time Midnight Tahitian Vanilla flavor that’s black as the night. So fun! But the 2016 Froyo Shop Halloween Spirit Award goes to… Menchie’s. Menchie’s has always shown Halloween spirit and this year they had Halloween spoons (Chip and Mookie in costume). You can also get Halloween froyo cakes and waffles with Halloween designs at select locations. Of course they brought back their pumpkin froyo, Harvest Pumpkin. I’ve also seen some Menchie’s locations with Halloween decorations, including Menchie's in Japan.

You can get free froyo at the Menchie’s in El Monte, CA on Halloween between 5 – 7 PM if you come in costume. Other Menchie’s locations have Halloween promos too. Be sure to share your ghoulish Menchie’s creations with the hashtag, #MenchiesMonsterMix.

Menchie’s Spooky Spoons Have Arrived

Fro-yo girl here. Remember how Menchie’s had color changing magic spoons featuring Menchie in different costumes last Halloween? Well they’re continuing that tradition this year with more collectible Halloween froyo spoons. There are two designs: an orange spoon featuring Mookie with a cute ghost that says Booooo! and a dark purple one with Chip and spiders that says Trick or Trick. The Moochie spoon is larger. The spoons are available while supplies last, so get yours soon.

New M&Ms Flavor and Limited Edition Cup at Menchies, Month of Smiles, Sweepstakes

Fro-yo girl here. It’s October and new flavor time at Menchie’s. The new flavor, Milk Chocolate Candy frozen yogurt, is made with M&M’s. They’ve also brought back a fall favorite, Harvest Pumpkin, made with real pumpkin, cinnamon and ginger.

* Milk chocolate candy: It’s amazing how this chocolate frozen yogurt tastes just like M&M’s. It tastes different from their other chocolate froyo flavors for sure. Milk chocolate candy froyo is lowfat and gluten free. Recommended toppings: Whipped topping, mini M&Ms, almonds, brownies

Menchie’s has declared it the Month of Smiles. During the World Smile Day Party on October 7 from 4 – 7 PM, they’ll have a buy one frozen yogurt, get one free, as well as fun activities and prizes. Menchie’s and M&M’s are sponsoring the Ultimate VIP Concert Experience Sweepstakes. The grand prize is 4 reserved concert tickets, VIP limo service, dinner and free swag. To enter, use your My Smileage account. The more you visit, the more contest entries you’ll receive. There’s another contest for their Month of Smiles.
