Yasso Introduces Three New Yogurt Bar Flavors, Starting with Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl

Fro-yo girl here. I recently read that Yasso was launching three new Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bar flavors: Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl (exclusively at Target), Orange Cream, and Butter Pecan. The bars feature new packaging. I found Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl at Target in La Canada Flintridge, CA. Target was selling Yasso bars for $4.79, and 2 boxes for $7 on sale.

Each box comes with four frozen yogurt bars and each 3.5 fl oz bar has 100 or fewer calories with 5 grams of protein. The Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl bars are 80 calories each, with no fat, 11g sugar, and 5g protein.

Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl bars: What pretty bars! And they tasted as good as they looked. The texture was light and creamy. The chocolate flavor was mild and not too sweet. I liked how it wasn’t heavy or rich.

Ingredients: Chocolate frozen Greek yogurt (nonfat milk, sugar, Greek yogurt (nonfat milk, yogurt cultures), milk protein concentrate, maltodextrin, Dutch processed cocoa, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor) Vanilla flavored frozen Greek yogurt (nonfat milk, Greek yogurt (nonfat milk, yogurt cultures), sugar, milk protein concentrate, maltodextrin, cream, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor).

4 out of 5 stars.

Yasso’s New Peppermint Crunch and Sugar Cookie Frozen Yogurt Review

Fro-yo girl here. Wow, I didn’t have to wait quite as long to try Yasso’s new seasonal flavors, Peppermint Crunch and Sugar Cookie frozen Greek yogurt. The flavors are available in pints and bars. The Target I went to only had the bars though. They were on sale for $3 a box. The regular price is $4.79. A box comes with four individually wrapped bars. One bar is 3.5 fl oz.

The design of the boxes is so festive, eye-catching, and cute. Santa and Mrs. Claus are about to indulge in a Yasso bar.

Peppermint Crunch: This is a peppermint flavored frozen Greek yogurt with crushed candy canes, chocolate cookie pieces, and white chocolate-flavored chips. This was the winner. It reminded me of Yasso’s Mint Championship flavor. Their peppermint products, including this one, are always so refreshing and natural tastng. You can’t go wrong with mint combined with chocolate. The texture was very pleasing too – light, creamy, with crunchy, tiny chocolate cookie bits. It wasn’t too sweet. One bar is 120 calories, with 2g fat, 15g sugars, and 5g protein. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Sugar Cookie: The sugar cookie frozen Greek yogurt has colorful green and red sprinkles and small chunks of delicious sugar cookie dough. I didn’t see many sprinkles. The bar was creamy and light. The cookie dough bits were grainy and sweet. The bars were sweeter than the Peppermint Crunch ones. The yogurt smelled just like a sugar cookie vanilla candle. Since I wasn’t a fan of the cookie chunks, I wouldn’t get this flavor again. 3 out of 5 stars.

Ingredients (Peppermint Crunch): Nonfat Milk, Greek Yogurt (Nonfat Milk, Yogurt Cultures), Sugar, Crushed Candy Cane (Rice Syrup, Cane Sugar, Coconut Oil, Peppermint Oil, Beet Juice Concentrate, Soy Lecithin), White Chocolate Flavored Chip (Confectioner Sugar, Coconut Oil, Nonfat Dry Milk Powder, Whole Milk Powder, Soy Lecithin, Natural Flavors) , Milk Protein Concentrate, Maltodextrin, Cream, Crushed Chocolate Cookies (Unbleached Unenriched Wheat Flour, Sugar, Palm and Palm Kernel Oil, Cocoa Processed with Alkali, Chocolate Liquor, Salt, Sodium Bicarbonate, Soy Lecithin, Natural Flavor), Locust Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Natural Flavor

Yasso is carried at Target. For a list of retailers that carry Yasso, check out Yasso’s location finder: https://yasso.com/find-a-store/

New Skinny Cow Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. I’ve never tried Skinny Cow frozen desserts before because they didn’t have any frozen yogurt. They finally introduced Greek froyo bars recently and I found them at Target Pasadena. Skinny Cow Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars come in two flavors, Salt-Kissed Caramel and Chocolate Fudgetastic Swirl. The bars have 5g of protein and are 110-110 calories each. They’re sold in boxes with four bars per box. The retail price is $5.49.

Target Pasadena had both flavors for $4.49 a box, regular price. I wasn’t too thrilled with the sound either flavor (wish they had other flavors like coffee and peanut butter) but the Chocolate Fudgetastic Swirl reminded me of the fudgesicles I used to enjoy.

* Chocolate Fudgetastic Swirl:
The bar is small and it looks like a Yasso bar. The texture is very nice. It’s firmer and creamier than a Yasso bar. The flavor was better than I expected. The chocolate flavor wasn’t as strong as you’d find in a fudgesicle. It was more like a light cocoa flavor. The chocolate swirls tasted like chocolate syrup (in a good way). The bar was sweet but not too sweet. It didn’t taste like yogurt but it tasted like a good ice cream bar. One bar has 2g of fat and 13g of sugars.

Ingredients: Greek frozen yogurt: skim milk, cultured skim milk, sugar, corn syrup, milk protein concentrate, cream, cocoa processed with alkali, molasses, natural flavor, pectin, guar gum, corn starch, salt, yogurt, culture. Fudge swirl: sugar water, corn syrup, cocoa processed with alkali, corn starch, sea salt, vanilla extrat, pectin.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

Lotte Foods Greek Yogurt Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. It’s been awhile since I’ve spotted a new Korean frozen yogurt bar but I finally found a new variety, Lotte Foods Greek Yogurt bars. I found one flavor, blueberry, at Zion Market in LA’s Koreatown. The package was $6.99.

One package contains six individually wrapped frozen yogurt bars. One bar is 80 ml with 75 calories and 11g of fat. The bars are manufactured in Korea.

The bar smells nice, like yogurt and it has a small, thin blueberry swirl. The thin white coating is creamy and tastes a bit like sweet white chocolate. The interior is soft and creamy and not too dense – a better than expected texture for a frozen yogurt bar. The interior has a mild, milky flavor and the blueberry swirl adds hints of berry and lemon. The coating has the strongest flavor. The tang is very mild. Overall it’s an interesting creamy sweet treat. I wish it had a stronger yogurt flavor.

Ingredients: Water, yogurt coating (rapeseed oil, coconut oil, sugar, mixed milk powder, lactose), sugar, mixed milk powder (skim milk powder, sweet whey powder), thick fermented milk (milk, sugar, skim milk, lactic acid), blueberry syrup (blueberry, sugar, water, fructooligosaccharide, lemon concentrate), extra oligosaccharide (starch syrup, isomaltooligosaccharide, fructose), processed butter (milk, cream, butter, coconut oil), milk, artificial flavor (yogurt), citric acid, mixed formulation (guar gum, locust bean gum, carrageenan, tamarind gum), emulsifier, greek yogurt powder

As you can see, the list of ingredients is lengthy.

I wonder if it comes in other flavors? Apparently Lotte Foods has a new macaroon ice cream product. I’d like to try it.

4 out of 5 stars.
