New Yasso Spoonables Review

Fro-yo girl here. Yasso just launched Spoonables, aka spoonable frozen Greek yogurt tubs. The Spoonables line is available exclusively at Target and will roll out nationwide in 2026. At Target in Pasadena, Yasso tubs were $5.89 each, regular price.

Each Yasso tub has up to 18g of protein and 410 calories. One container is 14 fl oz (smaller than a true pint). It’s lowfat and gluten-free. There is no mention of live and active cultures or probiotics.

Coffee Chocolate Chip: The coffee flavor is strong, but tastes like a bitter instant coffee. It doesn’t taste like good coffee. Also, it doesn’t have any yogurt flavor. But Coffee Chocolate Chip does remind me of coffee ice cream without being as rich and heavy. Yasso was still creamy and spoonable. The best part was the addition of the small chocolatey flakes. One container is 400 calories. One 2/3 cup serving is 150 calories, 3g fat, 19g sugars, and 7g protein.

Available Spoonable flavors: Fudge Brownie, Coffee Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cookies ‘n Cream. The Spoonable flavors are also available as Yasso bars.

For best results, thaw for five minutes before serving. If you don’t love it, you can get a refund

Yasso first introduced pints in 2018, available in eight flavors. Back then, the tub was actually 16 fl oz, a real pint.

4 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

All the Current Froyo Offerings at Ralphs

Fro-yo girl here. I visited the Ralphs near LACMA to check out their froyo selection. It’s a larger Ralphs store. These are the froyo products that I spotted:

  • Jeni’s Ice Cream pints: While most of Jeni’s produces mostly ice cream, the Lemon & Blueberries Parfait is made with fresh cultured buttermilk and yogurt. That’s frozen yogurt.
  • Simple Truth YoGreek Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars: Simple Truth is Ralph’s private label. YoGreek bars are their answer to Whole Foods Greek froyo bars. There are four bars per box.
  • Yasso: Ralphs carried Yasso Greek yogurt bars, including the chocolate-dipped varieties. They also carried Yasso Poppables, the bite size, chocolate-covered Greek froyo treats, and the froyo sandwiches.

With three brands of froyo, Ralphs has fewer froyo brands as Bristol Farms and the same number as Whole Foods and Vons.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

All the Current Froyo Offerings at Vons Pasadena

Fro-yo girl here. I visited the Vons in the Orangewood Center in Pasadena, CA, to check their froyo selection. These are the froyo products that I spotted:

  • Signature Select Frozen Yogurt: Signature Select is Vons private label. There were a few flavors to choose from, including Vanilla, Black Cherry Fudge, Chocolate Chip Black Cherry, etc. Sold in 1.5 quarts, these are family-sized containers that are meant to be a healthier alternative to ice cream
  • Sweetkiwi Greek Frozen Yogurt tubs: for yogurt lovers, this is one of the few products that doesn’t mask the flavor of the yogurt. Sweetkiwi whipped Greek froyo is rich in probiotics, fiber, and immune-boosting superfoods and it's low in calories.
  • Yasso: Vons carried Yasso Greek yogurt bars, including the chocolate dipped varieties. They also carried Yasso Poppables, the bite size, chocolate-covered Greek froyo treats.

With three brands of froyo, Vons has fewer froyo brands as Bristol Farms and the same number as Whole Foods.

All the Current Froyo Offerings at Whole Foods Pasadena

Fro-yo girl here. After seeing so many froyo products for sale at the Bristol Farms in South Pasadena, I felt inspired to see what the froyo selection was at the other supermarkets in town.

The Whole Foods in Pasadena on Arroyo is one of their larger, nicer locations. Here’s a look at what froyo products they’re currently selling:

  • 365 by Whole Foods Market offers two flavors of organic Greek yogurt dessert bars: mango and blueberry. Each box contains four bars.
  • Alden’s Organic provides one flavor of yogurt bars: strawberry. Each box includes four bars.
  • Jeni’s frozen dessert sandwiches come in two varieties made with froyo: key lime pie and triple berry tart. The cookies and froyo are superior to typical frozen dessert sandwiches.
  • Yasso bars: Whole Foods features a wide variety of Yasso’s Greek frozen yogurt bars. Each box has four bars.

Bristol Farms has more froyo products than Whole Foods, but Whole Foods has its own brand of froyo bars.

All the Current Froyo Offerings at Gelson’s

Fro-yo girl here. Gelson’s in La Canada Flintridge, CA, always has a great froyo and ice cream selection. During my recent visit, I spotted the following froyo products:

  • Sweetkiwi tubs: for yogurt lovers, this is one of the few products that doesn’t mask the flavor of the yogurt. Sweetkiwi whipped Greek froyo is rich in probiotics, fiber, and immune-boosting superfoods, and it's low in calories.
  • Yasso bars: Gelson’s had Yasso’s Greek yogurt bars, Poppables, and the froyo sandwiches too. The chocolate-dipped crunch bars are my favorite Yasso product.
  • Enlightened Greek Yogurt Bars: Enlightened’s frozen Greek yogurt bars are low in sugar and contain prebiotics and probiotics. The bars are sweetened with monkfruit.

With three brands of froyo, Gelson’s has fewer froyo brands than Bristol Farms and the same number as Whole Foods, Ralph’s, and Vons.

All the Current Froyo Offerings at Bristol Farms

Fro-yo girl here. During my recent trip to Bristol Farms in South Pasadena, CA, I realized that I had never seen so many froyo products for sale. Frozen yogurt is back! Here’s a look at what froyo products they’re currently selling:

  • Kri Kri Greek frozen yogurt tubs and bars: Kri Kri is a Greek dairy company. The products that they’re selling in the US are made in Greece with Greek dairy. They were introduced to the US recently. Link to review. There are four bars/lollies/pops per box. The Greek froyo bars have a fruit coating and a fruit ripple.
  • Wild About Mixmi Froyo: individual-sized froyo cups sold in boxes, the size and nutritional content make these popular at schools. The froyo cups have probiotics and prebiotic fiber.
  • Enlightened Greek yogurt bars: the low calorie and low sugar bars contain 3 grams of added sugar, 5 grams of protein, prebiotics, and probiotics. Each bar is 80 calories.
  • Jeni’s frozen dessert sandwiches: Two varieties are made with froyo, key lime pie and triple berry tart. The cookies and the froyo are superior to your typical frozen dessert sandwiches.
  • Sweetkiwi tubs: for yogurt lovers, this is one of the few products that doesn’t mask the flavor of the yogurt. Sweetkiwi whipped Greek froyo is rich in probiotics, fiber, and immune-boosting superfoods and it's low in calories.
  • Yasso bars: I first reviewed Yasso’s Greek yogurt bars back in 2012. They’re still around and have introduced many flavors and variations over the years (pints, cookie sandwiches, Greek froyo mochi). I like their chocolate dipped bars, which Bristol Farms currently carries.

Yes, I’ve tried them all. The Jeni’s key lime pie sandwiches are my current favorite but I would also recommend Sweetkiwi’s Smurf Berry tubs and Yasso chocolate dipped bars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New Yasso Fruit Bars (Strawberry Chocolate Crunch and Strawberries & Cream) Review

Fro-yo girl here. Yasso introduced three NEW Greek yogurt and fruit bars in late March. The new flavors are Strawberry Chocolate Crunch, Strawberries & Cream, and Creamy Mango. All three flavors feature Yasso’s creamy Greek yogurt and real fruit.

I found two of the flavors at Walmart in Burbank, CA, for $5.23. Pavilions also carries some of the flavors for $6.99, and Instacart has them for $8.09. A box contains four individually wrapped bars. Yasso recommends that you let the bars sit at room temperature for two minutes before consuming. I did allow the bars to thaw but still didn’t find them to be creamy.

Strawberry Chocolate Crunch Bars feature strawberry-flavored Greek frozen yogurt dipped in a crunchy milk chocolate coating. The crunchy bits are quinoa crisps. One bar is 140 calories with 4g of protein. I’ve had the other Yasso Crunch bars, and the chocolate coating is really good. I also enjoyed the milk chocolate coating for the Strawberry Chocolate Crunch Bar. The chocolate coating is thin and crunchy. It does fall off easily. The chocolate coating doesn’t complement the strawberry yogurt as much as it complements the other flavors they offer. The strawberry yogurt part is slightly icy and it doesn’t have enough yogurt flavor or enough strawberry flavor. The strawberries are blended into the yogurt. One bar is 140 calories, 6g total fat, 16g total carbs, 13g total sugars, and 4g protein.

Strawberries & Cream Bars are made with real strawberry Greek yogurt. The strawberry puree is blended into the yogurt. There was an icy edge. The flavor was okay – it didn’t have yogurt tang and it didn’t have enough strawberry flavor either. It was sweet but not crazy sweet. I think it would be better with lowfat or full-fat yogurt. One bar is 80 calories, 0g fat, 14g total carbs, 12g total sugars, and 4g protein.

Yasso bars are all-natural, healthy treats. They’re also gluten-free and kosher.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Jolly Llama Half-Dipped Yogurt Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. Jolly Llama just introduced a line of new half dipped yogurt bars. I found them at Sprouts. Three flavors are exclusive to Sprouts: Cool Mint Chip, Chocolate Fudge, and Coffee Espresso. The yogurt bars are dairy-free and gluten-free, according to Sprouts. However, if you look at the box, it says it contains milk and is a dairy product. The bars are kosher.

A box of four bars was $4.99 on sale and $6.99 regular price. One yogurt bar is 2.65 fl oz. The bars contain probiotics.

Cool Mint Chip: Described as “white mint frozen yogurt with chocolaty flakes half-dipped in a chocolaty coating.” It tasted like peppermint. The mint flavor is very strong. It’s refreshing. The texture is softer than Yasso’s bars. The chocolatey coating was sweet, thin, and crispy. I thought the texture was a bit too soft but the flavor was better than I expected – if you like strong mint flavors. One bar is 100 calories with 6g total fat, 5g total carbs, 9g total sugars, and 2g of protein. It’s made with kefir yogurt and sweetened with allulose, stevia, and monk fruit.

Available flavors: Coffee Espresso, Lemon Cheesecake, Cool Mint Chip, Strawberry ‘N Cream, Chocolate Fudge

Jolly Llama’s other frozen treats are dairy-free and gluten-free. I tried their sorbet back in 2009.

4 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yasso Greek Frozen Yogurt Mochi Review

Fro-yo girl here. Yasso launched a new line of frozen Greek yogurt mochi last month. I’ve been looking for it at Target, Vons, Ralph’s, Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, Gelson’s, and other supermarkets in Los Angeles. No luck. However, Yasso is currently offering free shipping and two free boxes (one box of mochi, one box of Poppables), so I ordered the mochi online.

Yasso frozen Greek yogurt mochi is the first of its kind; it features creamy frozen Greek yogurt wrapped in fluffy, sweet rice dough. Each mochi is 80 calories, is gluten-free, and is made with all natural ingredients. And yes, each contains live and active cultures. A pack of 6 mochi has a suggested retail price is $5.49. Each mochi is individually wrapped.

  • Mango: Tasted like ripe mango, almost floral.
  • Strawberry: The strawberry flavor was “off” for me and I love strawberries. It had a less than pleasant aftertaste. I know it’s made with strawberries but they didn’t taste ripe.
  • Vanilla: Sweet with lots of vanilla flavor
  • Chocolate: I don’t like chocolate ice cream but this one was really good, like a dark chocolate – richer and not as sweet. Lots of chocolate flavor!

Available flavors: Mango, Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate

Yasso’s mochi are as tasty as or better than most of the ice cream mochi out there – at least the vanilla and chocolate flavors. The rice dough shell was thin, soft and chewy. The mochi had plenty of froyo. The froyo was firm and fairly creamy.

One mochi (vanilla) is 80 calories, 0g total fat, 16g total carbs, 11g total sugars, and 2g protein.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yasso Poppables Review

Fro-yo girl here. The folks at Yasso have been busy with new product introductions, but it takes so long for those new products to reach Los Angeles. They introduced Yasso Poppables in March 2021. I’ve been looking for them since then. Yasso describes Poppables as, “ridiculously creamy frozen Greek yogurt bites covered in a chocolatey coating and sprinkled with quinoa crunch.” They sound like Yasso Chocoate Dipped frozen yogurt bars only smaller and without the sticks.

I found Yasso Poppables at Ralph’s for $6.49. They had the Vanilla Bean and Coffee varieties. Von’s also carries Poppables.

Vanilla Bean Poppables: They are like ice cream bon bons – less than 1.5 inches in diameter. The frozen yogurt in the middle was creamy and firm. The dark chocolate coating is really good – natural tasting and not too sweet. I also like the addition of the quinoa crunch. But the Poppables are too small, so I prefer the Chocolate Dipped bars. The Poppables should come in a bigger tub with an assortment of flavors.

One box comes with 6 Poppables and a MSRP of $6.49. Yasso Poppables are made with live and active cultures and no artificial ingredients. Poppables are 60 calories each. One Vanilla Bean Poppable has 3g total fat, 7g total carbs, and 5g total sugars.

Available flavors: Vanilla Bean, Coffee, Mint, Sea Salt Caramel

There used to be a Mint flavor but they seem to have discontinued it.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

NEW Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Sandwiches Review

Fro-yo girl here. New Yasso products always seem to take awhile to arrive at my local Target (in Southern California). I started looking for Yasso’s new Frozen Greek Yogurt sandwiches as soon as I read about the launch in late October 2020. I checked a few Target locations in person – no luck.

The sandwiches feature Greek froyo wedged between two soft chocolate cookies and are available exclusively at Target. The retail suggested price is $5.99/pack. A pack contains four sandwiches. Each sandwich is individually wrapped and the wrappers have cute sayings.

I had pretty much given up on finding the Frozen Greek Yogurt sandwiches until a recent search on the Target app revealed that the new Sunset Blvd. (Los Angeles) location actually has them in stock. The other 20+ locations near me do not have them in stock.

It turns out that the Target on Sunset Blvd. just opened in late October 2020, after 13 years. Yes, it took 13 years for that Target location to open. But the good news is that it’s huge and has Yasso products that other Target locations do not carry. It also has amazing views of the Hollywood Hills, including the Hollywood sign and the Yogurtland across the street.

Target Sunset had Yasso Mint Chocolate Chip and Vanilla Bean sandwiches for $6.49/box (the Target price online is $5.29). Okay, so Target Sunset is more expensive. The sandwiches are small (3 fl oz) and 100 – 120 calories each. They’re made with real Greek yogurt, no artificial or high intensity sweeteners, and live and active cultures.

Mint Chocolate Chip Sandwich: It’s described as mint frozen Greek yogurt and chocolate flavored chips wedged between two soft chocolate wafers. The cookies were similar to the kind that I associate with ice cream sandwiches – soft and they tend to stick to your fingers. Sure enough, Yasso’s cookies stuck to my fingers. The filling was enjoyable – their mint froyo is refreshing, firm, and creamy and I liked the additional texture of the tiny chocolate flecks, aka chocolate flavored chips. However, their 2017 froyo sandwiches had a better cookie (firmer, like Oreos), so I liked those better than the 2020 version. One cookie sandwich is 120 calories, 2g total fat, 21g total carbs, 12g total sugars and 4g protein.

Vanilla Bean Sandwich: The froyo was a little softer than the mint chocolate chip. It was creamy and had a strong vanilla flavor with lots of visible vanilla bean specks. The soft chocolate cookie was the same as the kind used in the Mint Chocolate Chip sandwich. The Oreo style cookie from Yasso 2017 was better tasting and had a better texture. One cookie sandwich is 100 calories, 1.5g total fat, 20g total carbs and 11g total sugars.

Available flavors: Mint Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Bean, Peanut Butter

4 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yasso Chocolate Dipped Bars Review

Vanilla chocolate crunch

Sea salt caramel chocolate crunch

Fro-yo girl here. Yasso recently introduced a new line of chocolate dipped Greek frozen yogurt bars. The Greek yogurt bars have a milk chocolate or dark chocolate coating with crisped quinoa. Bars are 140-160 calories each with 4g of protein, live and active cultures, and no high intensity sweeteners. They sounded right up my alley, since I like crunchy chocolate dipped bars and clearly love froyo.

I found two flavors at Vons and it didn’t seem like they carried the other two flavors, based on the shelf tags. They were $6.79 each, $1.30 more than the suggested retail price. One box has four individually wrapped bars. Each bar is 2.65 oz. The bars are gluten-free. One bar of salted caramel chocolate crunch has 150 calories, 7g total fat, 18g total carbs, 15g total sugars and 4g protein. The ingredients list is relatively short and natural sounding.

The bars are smaller than the regular Yasso bars. A regular Yasso bar is 3.5 oz. The chocolate dipped bars are about 3.5 inches in length, 2 inches in height, and 1 inch wide.

Vanilla Chocolate Crunch: You can’t easily tell this from the packaging, but some of the bars have a milk chocolate coating and others have a dark chocolate coating. Vanilla Chocolate Crunch bars feature a milk chocolate shell that’s thin and crisp, with added crunch from the crisped quinoa. I was impressed with the flavor and texture of the chocolate shell. The vanilla froyo on the inside is soft and creamy with a distinctive vanilla flavor and a subtle yogurt flavor. It’s hard to tell that it’s frozen yogurt but it’s still a delicious, fairly healthy treat.

Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Crunch: I don’t usually like salted caramel but Yasso’s version wasn’t cloyingly sweet. The dark chocolate shell was thicker than the milk chocolate shell and also very tasty.

I slightly preferred the Vanilla Chocolate Crunch since I like vanilla froyo better than salted caramel froyo, but I liked the dark chocolate shell better than the milk chocolate shell. I remember how much I liked their pb dipped chocolate bar years ago but I haven’t seen it for years. I’m excited to find the new Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch bars.

The indulgent yet healthy dipped bars are available in four flavors:

  • Mint Chocolate Crunch
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch
  • Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Crunch
  • Vanilla Chocolate Crunch

A box comes with four bars and retails for $5.49.

Use the store locator to find Yasso Chocolate Dipped Bars.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yasso’s New Gingerbread Frozen Yogurt Review

Fro-yo girl here. Yasso recently announced their limited time winter flavor lineup: Gingerbread, Peppermint Crunch, and Sugar Cookie. The Gingerbread flavor is new. I found it at Target where one box of 4 Yasso bars (14 fl oz) is currently $4.94.

The box with the gingerbread man eating a Gingerbread Yasso bar is adorable. Each bar is individually wrapped. There were different gingerbread men on the wrappers. Awww. One 65g bar is 110 calories, 1.5g total fat, 15g total sugars, 5g protein, and 19g total carbohydrate.

* Gingerbread: The bar was smooth, creamy, and light. The warm gingerbread spices were noticeable but not overwhelming or too strong. The spices were more mellow. I could not taste yogurt but I still enjoyed the bar. The bar has cream cheese swirls. Those are mild too.

Ingredients: Nonfat Milk, Greek Yogurt (Nonfat Milk, Yogurt Cultures), Frosting Swirl [Cream Cheese (Milk, Cream, Cheese Culture, Salt, Carob Bean Gum, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum), Sugar, Invert Sugar, Water, Corn Starch, Calcium Carbonate, Cream Cheese Powder, Natural Flavor], Sugar, Gingerbread Base (Tapioca Syrup, Brown Sugar, Water, Cane Sugar, Apple Extract (for color), Natural Flavors, Corn Starch, Molasses, Cinnamon), Milk Protein Concentrate, Maltodextrin, Cream, Fruit and Vegetable Juices for Color, Hibiscus Concentrate for Color, Locust Bean Gum, Guar Gum

4 out of 5 stars.

Yasso Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars: New Pecan Pie Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. Yasso has launched a new fall flavor of Greek frozen yogurt bars, Pecan Pie. The bars come in a box of four 3.5 fl oz bars. I found them at Target for $4.44 a box. Their other seasonal flavor, Pumpkin Cheesecake, is also back. Both are available nationwide for a limited time.

Pecan Pie bars are described as having “cinnamon graham swirls and glazed pecans nestled in the creamy cold goodness of brown butter frozen Greek yogurt.” Each bar has 5g of protein, 130 calories, 4.5g total fat, 14g total sugars, and 19g total carbohydrates.

Pecan Pie Bars: I’m not a huge fan of pecans, but these bars are delicious and perfect for fall. They’re soft and creamy, not too sweet, and with a warm brown butter flavor. There are small bits of glazed pecan throughout and the cinnamon swirls aren’t too strong. It’s balanced and not too sweet. There was little yogurt flavor.

Ingredients: Nonfat milk, Greek yogurt (nonfat milk, cultures), sugar, cinnamon graham swirl [graham cracker crumb (unbleached unenriched wheat flour, whole wheat/graham flour, sugar, palm and palm kernel oil, molasses, honey, salt, sodium bicarbonate), soybean oil, powdered sugar (sugar, corn starch), cinnamon, coconut oil, salt, soy lecithin), brown butter base [tapioca syrup, water, butter (cream, salt), sweetened condensed skim milk (skim milk, cane sugar, vitamin A palmitate), apple extract, natural flavors, corn starch, sugar, sunflower lecithin, salt, molasses], pecans (pecans, sugar, honey, natural flavor, salt), milk protein concentrate, maltodextrin, cream, locust bean gum, guar gum, natural flavor).

4 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
