2025 Christmas Froyo Shop Spirit Winner

Fro-yo girl here. I love seeing all the froyo Christmas spirit during the holiday season. It makes it hard to choose the shop with the most Christmas spirit!

This year, the winner of the Christmas Froyo Shop Spirit Award is…Yogurtland for the second year in a row.

Yogurtland brought by the 12 Days of Froyo promotion, with a mystery reward every day for Real Rewards members. They introduced a new flavor, Peppermint Mocha froyo, and a festive topping, mini gingerbread man cookies. There was a new festive spoon with a red candy cane design and holiday cups. The gift cards also featured holiday designs.

Last year, Yogurtland introduced a new flavor, Peppermint Fudge Brownie, and brought back a seasonal flavor, Cranberry Orange Tart. They also had a new holiday cup design, new holiday spoons (gingerbread man, giant hunter green), a new holiday topping (mini gingerbread men cookies), an online exclusive festive Gingerbread Wonderland froyo creation, and, to top it all off, a 12 Days of Froyo promotion for Real Rewards members.

Previous winners of the Christmas Spirit Froyo Shop Award

The 2021 Christmas Froyo Shop Spirit Award Winner…

Source: IG @16handlesstamford

Fro-yo girl here. Every Easter and Halloween, I select the froyo shop with the most Easter and Halloween spirit. I somehow overlooked the biggest holiday, Christmas, even though many froyo shops acknowledge Christmas. I’ve seen Christmas froyo flavors, Christmas toppings, Christmas promotions, Christmas decorations, Christmas spoons, Christmas cups, Christmas froyo cakes, etc. I’ve seen a couple of twelve days of Christmas promotions – very cute.

The first winner of the Christmas Froyo Shop Spirit Award is…16 Handles Stamford, Connecticut. First, their holiday window display and store decorations are attention getting. Second, they had a staff holiday party. Third, they have two new holiday flavors, Butter Cookie ice cream and Cinnamon Bun oatmilk soft serve. They also brought back Eggnog froyo. Congrats!

My Christmas-y froyo images Pinterest board has over 1,400 images. https://www.pinterest.com/froyogirl/christmas-y-froyo-images/

Merry Fro-yo Christmas

Fro-yo girl here. It’s Christmas Eve and I hope you’re going to have a nice big cup of gingerbread, egg nog, cocoa minty holiday cookie or peppermint froyo today. Use your Menchie’s holiday spoon and top it with peppermint bark, red & green M&Ms, candy canes, gingerbread cookies, Christmas sprinkles, pfeffernusse, chocolate nonpareils, white chocolate, cranberries, toasted pecans, etc.

Here’s a festive picture I took at one of my favorite places: Blush Burlingame. I also made an ornament out of a froyo cup while I was there (they had an ornament making station) enjoying the gingerbread froyo and added it to their Christmas tree.

Hope you wake up and find fro-yo gift cards in your stocking. Happy holidays to all fro-yo fans!

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Get Crafty, Make Froyo Ornaments

Fro-yo girl here. One of my hobbies is to make a new batch of Christmas ornaments every December. I’ve made simple ornaments out of felt, clear glass globes, pipe cleaners, yarn, dough, clay and more. There’s something gratifying about decorating your Christmas tree with unique handmade ornaments that are inexpensive, easy and fun to make.

This year I picked up some clear glass ornaments at Michael’s (they come in packs of 6 for $5 per pack), paint pens ($2 and up) and satin paint (you can find some for under $2 a bottle, read the label and make sure that it works on glass). There's glittery paint available too. I used craft smart paint pens and Americana multi-surface Satin paint in Turquoise Waters from DecoArt.

It's much cheaper than etched glass ornaments because a bottle of Martha Stewart glass etching cream is $24.99.

Take the stem out of the ornament and paint it with a brush. Let the paint dry before adding another coat. After it’s dry, you can easily draw designs or use stencils. If you like clear globes, draw directly on the glass.

Stencils are easy to make. Find an image of frozen yogurt that you like on the web and print it out (adjust the size via your printer settings if desired). Tape it to a thin, clear, plastic sheet. Use an exacto knife to cut out the shape and presto, you have a froyo stencil that you can use for Christmas cards, ornaments, stationery, etc.

If you’re not the crafty type and you love frozen yogurt, you can always buy frozen yogurt ornaments from CafePress or Amazon but that’s just not as fun.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Happy Fro-yo Christmas

Fro-yo girl here. It’s Christmas Eve and a perfect day for fro-yo. Doesn’t gingerbread or peppermint fro-yo sound good? I can’t say that I like egg nog fro-yo but I don’t like egg nog either.

I made a delicious batch of cranberry frozen yogurt using my Cuisinart ICE-21 automatic frozen yogurt maker and I decided to share the recipe. It’s tart of course.

Cranberry tart frozen yogurt

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups of Greek nonfat plain yogurt
  • ½ cup of thawed cranberry juice concentrate
  • 3 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk (optional)

Whisk all ingredients together till smooth. Sweeten further if desired (corn syrup, light agave nectar or baker’s superfine sugar will do). Add mixture to freezer bowl. The freezer bowl should already be frozen. Turn on frozen yogurt/ice cream machine and churn for about 20 minutes till desired consistency is achieved. Enjoy! Freeze any leftovers.

I’m sure the recipe would turn out well with lowfat or full fat Greek yogurt. Or if you don’t have Greek yogurt on hand, strain regular plain yogurt for about 4 hours.

Hope you wake up and find fro-yo gift cards in your stocking. Happy holidays to all fro-yo fans!

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Fro-yo Gift Ideas: Best Yogurt Gifts on Etsy

Fro-yo girl here. The fro-yo gift guide continues. This time I’ve picked out my favorite fro-yo/yogurt related gifts on Etsy. Yogurt soaps are the most common yogurt product on Etsy and those soaps look good, but it’s difficult to evaluate which soaps are better than others based on online listings.

* Easiyo Yogurt zippered coin purse ($5): eco-friendly and clever, Tonyassewingroom took a packet of yogurt mix and turned it into a fabric lined coin purse
* Keep calm and eat yogurt print ($12): the keep calm and carry on phrase started appearing everywhere about a year ago and now there are variations on that phrase. This print from adadart would make a charming addition to any fro-yo loving home.

Celebrating the Holiday Season with Fro-yo

Fro-yo girl here. It seems like I can't go anywhere these days without seeing a Christmas tree and fro-yo shops are showing their Xmas spirit as well. While Halloween and Thanksgiving were about pumpkin fro-yo, Christmas brings flavors like egg nog, peppermint/candy cane, and gingerbread and toppings like peppermint bark and candy canes.

Fro-yo gift cards are a no-brainer stocking stuffer for any fro-yo fan on your list, but did you know about fro-yo ornaments? The ice cream ornaments are cuter though.
