Menchie’s New Mystery Swirls Flavors, Contest, & Free Froyo

Fro-yo girl here. It’s a busy month at Menchie’s. Let’s start with the new Mystery Swirls, both of which are sorbets. Menchie’s usually introduces new sorbet flavors during July.

There are two mystery flavors, Razzle Dazzle sorbet and Snazzy Jazzy sorbet. Based on the names alone, I would have guessed that Razzle Dazzle would be a raspberry flavor and Snazzy Jazz would be an apple flavor. But looking at the color, my guess would be the other way around.

Razzle Dazzle sorbet: It definitely tasted like green apple sorbet and had a nice tang.

Snazzy Jazzy sorbet: The flavor wasn’t as distinctive, but I’m guessing that it’s watermelon. If you told me it was a berry flavor, I wouldn’t be totally surprised.

Razzle Dazzle sorbet tasted better. Both sorbets are made without artificial colors or artificial flavors, are gluten-free, and contain no high fructose corn syrup.

The new Mystery Swirls contest gives Menchie’s guests a chance to win free gift cards and free Menchie’s merch. To enter, visit Menchie’s in July and take a picture with Menchie’s Mystery Swirls photo frame. Post the picture on Instagram with the tag #MenchiesMysterySwirls.

Save the date for free froyo and the premiere of the Disney Channel’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. To get your free froyo, visit Menchie’s on Thursday, July 10th. The first 50 guests at 3pm will get their five ounces free.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yogurtland’s New Flavor: Citrus C Sorbet

Fro-yo girl here. Well, it’s been awhile since Yogurtland introduced a new flavor. The last new flavor was Butterfinger frozen custard. During 2014’s Flavor Quest, Yogurtland introduced Orange Citrus sorbet, described as “A flavor as bright as the Sunshine state itself, this flavor combines real Mandarin oranges, tangerines and clementines for a light, refreshing vitamin C-packed way to beat the heat.”

It looks like Citrus C sorbet is a similar, but new flavor. It’s described as “Made with REAL Tangerines and Oranges, this tangy, sweet sorbet is sure to be a crowd pleaser! The perfect flavor balance of candied tangerine and a fresh orange finish makes for a refreshingly sweet treat!” So, Citrus C doesn’t have clementines and while it has tangerine, it’s candied tangerine.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had Orange Citrus sorbet, but I think it was much better than Citrus C sorbet. Citrus C didn’t taste like fresh squeezed orange/clementine juice, although it's made with real oranges and tangerines. There was no tang. It was sweet like an orange flavored drink (Sunny Delight). Recommended toppings: raspberries, popping boba.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Menchie’s July Featured Flavors: Watermelon Sorbet & Blue Raspberry Sorbet

Fro-yo girl here. Menchie’s has just launched two new Jolly Rancher sorbet flavors, Watermelon Sorbet and Blue Raspberry Sorbet. After visiting two Menchie’s, I’ve only seen one of the new flavors. I’ll have to try Watermelon Sorbet later. I should have gone to Menchie’s Glendale because they have the new flavors.

* Blue Raspberry Sorbet made with Jolly Rancher: The color and flavor were more intense than Yogurtland’s Blue Raspberry Sorbet made with Jolly Rancher. Menchie’s seems to use more Jolly Rancher flavoring. The texture was soft, icy, and smooth. I grew up with blue raspberry flavored candy and ICEEs, so I did like the tangy sweetness of this flavor – though I’ve outgrown that type of flavor. Recommended toppings: Sour Patch Kids or any sour gummi candy.

* Watermelon Sorbet made with Jolly Rancher: I didn’t find it but I know that Blue Raspberry Jolly Rancher tastes better than Watermelon Jolly Rancher. Recommended toppings: Nerds.

Both sorbets are nonfat, gluten free, and dairy free. Hurry in because they’re around while supplies last.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
