Menchie’s Toasted Coconut Crunch Test Flavor, Fruit Purees

Fro-yo girl here. While I was at Menchie’s University in Encino, CA, I noticed a new test flavor called Toasted Coconut Crunch. It’s made with Mrs. Thinster’s Cookie Thins (the Toasted Coconut Cookie Thins) and has no artificial flavors or colors, no high fructose corn syrup and no partially hydrogenated oils.

* Toasted Coconut Crunch froyo: The texture was creamy and smooth but it tasted like coconut without cookies. I do love cookie froyo flavors, though I’m not a big fan of coconut froyo. So, this flavor was okay for me but a pass because the cookie flavor isn’t noticeable.

I also noticed chilled fruit purees in squeeze bottles in blueberry, strawberry, and passionfruit. I don’t think that I’ve seen these at other Menchie’s locations, so maybe fruit purees will be carried soon at more locations. Yogurtland added fruit purees in June 2016.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Pinkberry Introduces Chocolate Chip Cookie Froyo

Fro-yo girl here. Pinkberry introduced its newest froyo flavor a few days ago: Chocolate chip cookie. It’s made with real chocolate chip cookie pieces. They also introduced a new topping, chocolate chip cookies. And they have a chocolate chip cookie shake.

* Chocolate chip cookie froyo: It’s a light tan color with teeeny chocolate bits. There are no visible or discernible cookie pieces. It’s a smooth, creamy and lighter than soft serve ice cream. It’s sweet and mild - I wouldn’t say it has a strong cookie flavor. It tastes more like vanilla with a hint of cookie and a hint of chocolate.

The poster suggests that there will be a new flavor in May, mint chocolate chip cookie.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Yogurtland's New Flavors: Blackberry Lemon Mint Tart & Oatmeal Cookies

Fro-yo girl here. Yogurtland recently introduced three new fro-yo flavors. I talked about their new PB+J flavor in my last post. Here’s what I think about the other new flavors:

* Blackberry lemon mint tart: There’s a lot going on, so it’s certainly an interesting flavor. However, I find that fro-yo flavors that try to blend three flavors in one have too much going on. Mint is also a difficult flavor to pull off, especially for a tart fro-yo. It’s a unique flavor but I can’t say that it’s one that I like much.

* Oatmeal cookies: Highly recommended. It’s creamy, smooth, rich and comforting. The spices (cinnamon and ?) remind me of their pumpkin pie fro-yo only without pumpkin. Don’t miss this one. Make it even better by topping it with cookies (I like the mini Nutter Butters).

Yogurtland is currently making the best cookie inspired flavors out there (Chocolate Mint Cookies! Oatmeal Cookies!). They put real cookies in their cookie flavored fro-yo.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
