Clio Greek Yogurt Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. I’ve seen Clio Bars around (e.g., in the refrigerator at Whole Foods near the yogurt) and wondered about them since they’re made with Greek yogurt. They’re portable, individually wrapped, high protein snacks made with Greek yogurt. Clio Bars are kosher, gluten-free, and contain live and active cultures. Even the granola & yogurt parfait bars are gluten-free.

The Original and Less Sugar Clio bars feature a chocolatey coating, with one exception, the Less Sugar Yogurt Coated Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt Bars. The Granola & Greek Yogurt Parfait Bars feature an almond butter or yogurt coating. The Original Clio Bars are described as cheesecake like. Original Clio Bars retail for $1.49/bar, Les Sugar Clio Bars retail for $1.99/bar, and Granola & Yogurt Parfait Bars retail for $2.49/bar.

Vanilla Greek Yogurt Bar: It’s thick and looks like a small candy bar. The chocolate coating didn’t have much flavor but the vanilla yogurt part was firm, creamy, and tangy. It tasted more like yogurt than cheesecake but I like that it tasted like yogurt. One 1.76 oz bar was 140 calories, 6g total fat, 14g total carbs, 11g total sugars, and 9g protein.

Strawberry Greek Yogurt Bar: The strawberry yogurt was pretty tangy but the chocolate coating had little flavor. There was a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Vanilla Almond Granola and Yogurt Parfait Bar: This bar was very sweet with the sweet granola with dried cranberries. The granola was chewy. The yogurt in the center was still tangy. The almond butter coating had little flavor. One 1.94 oz bar was 200 calories, 8g total fat, 22g total carbs, 16g total sugars, and 10g protein.

Strawberry Granola & Yogurt Parfait Bar: This bar was too sweet with the sweet coating, sweet granola, and the dried cranberries. The strawberry yogurt part added a little tang.

These were nice, satisfying snacks but the granola made the parfait bars too sweet. I’d like to try the Less Sugar Clio Bars line next.

Available flavors:

  • Original Clio Bars: Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Blueberry, Peanut Butter
  • Less Sugar Clio Bars: Peach, Coconut, Mixed Berry, Acai
  • Granola & Greek Yogurt Parfait bars: Strawberry, Vanilla
Tip: They're good frozen!
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

New at Trader Joe’s: Strawberry Greek Frozen Yogurt Parfait Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. It’s been awhile since TJ’s introduced a new frozen yogurt product. Prior to the new Strawberry Greek Frozen Yogurt Parfait Bars, they had Frozen Vanilla Greek Yogurt way back in 2012. In 2009, they introduced Nonfat Plain Frozen Yogurt. The strawberry froyo bars are their first yogurt popsicles. What took so long?

Trader Joe’s product developer wanted to created the “ultimate breakfast popsicle” using creamy yogurt, crunchy granola, and summer fruits. TJ’s parfait bars are made with Greek yogurt, strawberry puree, strawberry pieces, and Just the Clusters Vanilla Almond granola. One box contains 4 bars and is priced at $2.99. According to Trader Joe’s, the bars will only be available this summer.

* Strawberry Greek frozen yogurt parfait bar: Delicious – these seem like the kind of bars you’d make at home. They’re full size, tangy, and creamy. I like that they taste like yogurt because many frozen yogurt bars on the market do not. They taste simple and natural, with lots of strawberry flavor. The chewy granola bits are found throughout the bar.

One bar is 100 calories, 2g total fat, 18g total carbs, 14g sugars and 3g protein.

Ingredients: Greek yogurt (cultured pasteurized skim milk, yogurt concentrate (cultured whey, nonfat dry milk, yogurt cultures), dextrose, milk protein concentrate, mono- and diglycerides, guar gum, maltodextrin, strawberry puree, diced strawberries, oat clusters (rolled oats, sugar, expelled pressed canolaoil, rice flour, almonds, cornstarch, honey, natural flavor, salt, barley malt syrup), sliced strawberries (strawberries, sugar), natural flavor, vegetable juice (color), citric acid (acidifier).

Get these if you love the taste of yogurt and strawberries! I plan to get more and have them for breakfast.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Lotte Strawberry Greek Yogurt Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. I reviewed Lotte Foods Blueberry Greek Yogurt Bars back in 2016. I remember liking it, but it wasn’t tangy enough for me to want to buy it again. But I thought the strawberry flavor would be worth trying. I found it at 99 Ranch Market in Alhambra, CA. A box of bars is $6.49 regular price and I got it on sale for $3.98.

One package contains six individually wrapped frozen yogurt bars. One bar is 85 ml with 190 calories and 11g of fat. The bars are manufactured in Korea.

The bar is pretty. It had a thin, white coating that tasted like white chocolate and was creamy and very sweet. The interior was soft and creamy and not too dense. The strawberry swirls were thin and didn’t add much strawberry flavor. I could taste yogurt and a tiny bit of tang. I liked the texture but the coating was too sweet and there wasn’t enough strawberry flavor. All that fat keeps it creamy though.

Ingredients: Water, yogurt coating (rapeseed oil, coconut oil, sugar, mixed milk powder, lactose), sugar, mixed milk powder (skim milk powder, sweet whey powder), thick fermented milk (milk, sugar, skim milk, lactic acid), strawberry syrup (strawberry, sugar, water, oligofructose, starch, pectin, citric acid, triosodium citrate, locust bean gum, anthocynanins, calcium phosphate, dimethicone, water), oligosaccharide (corn syrup, isomaltooligosaccharide, fructose), butter, milk, artificial flavor (yogurt), citric acid, mixed formulation (guar gum, locust bean gum, carrageenan, tamarind gum), glycerin esters of fatty acid, Greek yogurt powder (skim milk powder, bacterial culture, dextrin).

As you can see, the list of ingredients is crazy long.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Mehadrin Yo Bar Review

Fro-yo girl here. Mehadrin Yo Bar is a kosher Cholov Yisroel chocolate dipped Greek yogurt bar that I found in the refrigerated section of Livonia Glatt Market for $1.99. Cholov Yisroel means that the entire production process was under strict and diligent rabbi supervision. It is a higher standard of kosher dairy.

Yo Bar comes in three flavors: Vanilla, Coffee and Hazelnut. The yogurt is strained and coated in a thin dark chocolate layer. It has over 25 billion probiotics, 110 calories, 6g protein, 5g fat and 10g sugars. One bar is 1.76 oz.

* Yo Bar Coffee: The bar was soft and super creamy, similar to cream cheese in texture. The yogurt was sweet and tangy. I wasn’t expecting such a soft bar. The chocolate and coffee complemented each other though they didn’t pair as well with the tanginess of the yogurt. It’s an interesting, rich snack that reminds me of a tangy truffle. Definitely have it with a drink.

Ingredients: Strained yogurt (pasteurized lowfat milk, active cultures), chocolate glaze (cocoa, granulated sugar, palm kernel oil, soy lecithin, milk solids, salt), granulated sugar, butter, instant coffee, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

4 out of 5 stars.
