Strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich: The sandwich features “golden-crusted brown sugar cookie and strawberry ice cream.” I was surprised by the thickness of the cookies. The sandwich was about 2/3rd cookie and 1/3 ice cream, unusual proportions. The cookie is usually much thinner. The sugar cookies were really good. They were soft and crumbly. I could taste the butter and brown sugar. All that cookie overwhelmed the ice cream – which isn’t necessarily a negative. It depends on whether you prefer more ice cream or more cookie. The ice cream seemed fine but didn’t stand out. It had good texture (creamy and not too soft).
One sandwich is 420 calories, 12g total fat, 75g total carbs, 51g total sugars, and 3g protein. That's a lot of sugar.
Verdict, it’s a great, high-quality ice cream sandwich for cookie lovers. The other varieties are Cookie Monster, Banana Pudding, Mocha Brownie, Chocolate Blackout, The Classic, Key Lime Pie, and French Roast. I haven’t seen the Key Lime Pie yet.
I prefer Jeni's Ice Cream sandwiches, especially the Key Lime Pie froyo with graham cracker cookies.
