Poll Results: Favorite Flavor of Fro-yo

Fro-yo girl here. I recently asked readers to vote for their favorite fro-yo flavor. I chose two popular sweet fro-yo flavors and two popular tart fro-yo flavors. The results are in. Original tart won with 37% of the vote, followed by Chocolate (26%), Vanilla (20%) and Pomegranate tart (15%).

It’s interesting that 16 Handles surveyed its customers in 2012 and found that Vanilla was the most popular flavor (40.8%), followed by Chocolate (34.1%) and Tart (25.1%). I guess my readers like tart fro-yo much more than 16 Handles customers. According to an article in the Sacramento Bee, 92% of ice cream companies said vanilla was their most popular flavor. Vanilla just wasn’t as popular with my readers. I suspect that my readers are hardcore fro-yo fans who love fro-yo for its tangy quality rather than the casual fro-yo eater seeking an ice cream substitute.

Toppings Ratio Poll Results

Fro-yo girl here. I recently asked my readers whether they’d like to have just a few spoonfuls of toppings with their fro-yo or enough toppings for every bite of fro-yo.

The results are in...and having enough toppings for every bite of fro-yo edged out having a few spoonfuls of toppings, 55% to 45%. I personally prefer having a lot more fro-yo than toppings but I do notice that others tend to load up on topping. I enjoy those bites of just fro-yo without toppings. Toppings can enhance the cup of fro-yo but they also add/change the flavor.

The ideal cup of fro-yo appears to have 2 flavors of fro-yo, with 3 toppings and enough toppings for every bite of fro-yo.

Fro-yo Toppings Poll Results

Fro-yo girl here. I recently asked my readers to weigh in on the question: “How many different types of toppings would you want in your perfect cup of fro-yo?” The results are in. It was a close race between 1 - 2 toppings (45% of the vote) and 3 - 5 toppings (40%) of the vote. I also examined the Yogurtland Berkeley pictures uploaded to Yelp and discovered the average number of toppings per cup = 3.

I’m trying to understand the ideal cup of fro-yo. Last month, readers chose 2 flavors of fro-yo for their perfect cup of fro-yo. This month, I’d like you to vote on your ideal toppings to fro-yo ratio.
