Menchie’s Sponsors LA Heart Walk 2015

Fro-yo girl here. Today was National Walking Day and Americans are invited to walk at least 30 minutes today. The American Heart Association started the Heart Walk to raise awareness for the importance of physical activity.

Menchie’s was a local sponsor of today’s Los Angeles Heart Walk, along with Union Bank and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.

The festivities started at 11:30 AM at Union Bank Plaza (445 S Figueroa St., Los Angeles). Various speakers extolled the benefits of walking/physical activity. Several health organizations were present – you could get your blood pressure checked and learn about CPR. Three furry mascots were present, including Menchie, a heart and the LA Galaxy mascot, Cozmo.

Cozmo is a fast walker. He led the walkers for a mile long walk. Menchie is a much slower walker (but a cuter dancer). Walkers collected checkmarks at four stations. Afterwards, those who completed the walk received a free t-shirt, bottled water, Subway sandwich and a mini cup of Menchie’s (vanilla, chocolate or pineapple). The t-shirt has the sponsor logos, including Menchie’s, on the back.

Free froyo is a good motivation to walk!

Menchie’s Celebrates National Frozen Yogurt Day 2015

Fro-yo girl here. Menchie’s celebrated National Frozen Yogurt Day 2015 with 6 oz. of free froyo and toppings for guests from 4-8 PM. The employees had cute NFYD t-shirts on.

I tried one of the new froyo flavors for February, Spiced Chai Latte. Spiced Chai Latte is made “with a flavorful combination of cinnamon, ginger, cloves and cardamom to enlighten guests with notes of warmth and spice.” I love a good chai…this did not taste like chai. The spice blend didn’t make me think of chai and the tea flavor was absent. Plus the flavor was overly sweet and the texture was icy.

The other new flavor, Swiss Miss Classic Hot Chocolate was not available.

I didn’t receive a coupon for my next purchase, like I did last year. I was surprised that they didn’t increase staffing levels…it look a long time to make it to the register. There were only two employees present and they didn’t have guests form an orderly line. 

But...I love free froyo!

Menchie’s National Frozen Yogurt Day Celebration

Fro-yo girl here. Thanks Menchie’s for spreading the smiles today with free froyo for National Frozen Yogurt Day!

I visited Menchie’s today with the NYFD Menchie’s coupon for 6 free ounces in hand. The shop had pink and green Menchie’s balloons and National Frozen Yogurt Day written on the chalkboard. I didn’t see any NFYD signs. The Menchie’s team member had on a limited edition NFYD Menchie’s t-shirt. Some Menchie’s locations had contests and gave away these t-shirts.

I did get a coupon for 10% off from 2/7 - 2/14/2014 with the NYFD design.
