National Froyo Day Recap

Fro-yo girl here. Happy National Froyo Day! What a day!

It started yesterday at Pinkberry, since Pinkberry’s National Froyo Day BOGO free offer for Pinkcard members was from Feb. 4 – 6. I went to the Pinkberry in Los Feliz, and the employee knew about the offer. I didn’t see any NFYD signs. I got another cup of Yuzu Meringue froyo, the seasonal flavor, and Pomegranate froyo. The Yuzu Meringue froyo is nice but not as tangy as most of their tart flavors.

Today, 2/6, I went to Yogurtland Eagle Rock in the early afternoon because they had matcha froyo. Love matcha froyo. I also appreciate how Yogurtland announced the NFYD deal, BOGO free, weeks in advance. And they had one small NFYD sign at the shop.

In the afternoon, I went to Menchie’s Valley Village for the BOGO free offer. Menchie also was there at the top of the hour (every hour) for a meet and greet. Or at least I think he was? I waited for ten minutes at 5 PM and didn’t see Menchie. But, I was happy that Valley Village had the February featured flavors, peanut butter gelato and Hershey’s Kisses. And they had multiple NFYD signs.

I thought it would also be interesting to look back at NFYD in 2015. Back in 2015, Yogurtland celebrated NFYD on Feb. 2. They had free mini froyos, two new froyo flavors (York Peppermint Pattie and Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake), new toppings (York Peppermint Patties Minis and Hershey's Mini Kisses), free froyo, and a limited edition Hershey's collectible spoon. Menchie’s celebrated NFYD on February 6 with 6 oz of free froyo. Those were the good old froyo days!

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

National/International Frozen Yogurt Day 2022 Festivities

Fro-yo girl here. Happy National/International/World Frozen Yogurt Day! Menchie’s celebrated early, on February 3, but almost everyone else celebrated NFYD on February 6. The National Frozen Yogurt Day celebration is BACK at Yogurtland this year after a one-year hiatus. NFYD felt more national this year because not as many froyo shops outside the US celebrated IFYD. And most shops offered a BOGO free this year.

My first stop was at Pinkberry for the I just went the BOGO free offer. I’m loving the new Limoncello flavor, so I got another cup of that and a cup of original tart. The Pinkberry shop didn’t have any NFYD signs. Later, I went to Yogurtland which had a small NFYD sign on the counter. Their offer was different this year: BOGO free and triple reward points. I got two cups of Madagascar Vanilla froyo with chocolate shell and cookies. I also had enough points to earn a free froyo reward. Yay! Nice way to end of the day.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

National Frozen Yogurt Day Recap: Pinkberry

Fro-yo girl here. It is now officially National/International Frozen Yogurt Day! I’m used to going to more than one froyo shop on NFYD. It’s a special day and there’s always room in my freezer for froyo. This year I just went to Pinkberry for the BOGO free offer, since Yogurtland didn't have an offer for NFYD. Pinkberry didn’t have any NFYD signs posted. Oh well, at least they acknowledged NFYD with an offer.

I’ve been going to Yogurtland for NFYD/IFYD ever since their first NFYD in 2011. This would have been NFYD #10 but they decided not to celebrate this year. I asked a few Yogurtland locations about NFYD and even walked by Yogurtland yesterday to look for NFYD signs. Nothing. A few Yogurtland locations are celebrating on their own, but it’s not a chain level celebration.

There were still MANY NFYD offers from other froyo shops, franchises (e.g., Orange Leaf, TCBY, 16 Handles, sweetFrog) and independents.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
