New Test Flavor at Menchie’s: OREO Fruit Crème

Fro-yo girl here. Menchie’s University in Encino, CA is currently testing a new frozen yogurt flavor, OREO Cookie with Fruit Crème. Did Nabisco make Oreos with fruit crème? They probably did, since there’s a frozen yogurt version now. The fruit crème seems to be a mixture of lemon, lime and cherry flavors. Chocolate cookies with fruit crème don’t sound too appealing.

OREO Cookie with Fruit Crème: It tasted like a mild chocolate frozen yogurt but slightly different because of the hint of fruit flavors. It wasn’t terrible but the fruit flavors were quite faint. Had they been stronger, the froyo might have tasted worse. But it didn’t have much Oreo cookie flavor. The texture was light and creamy.

Menchie’s New Nut Job 2 Cup and the Return of Oreo Flavors

Fro-yo girl here. Menchie’s has a new exclusive cup design that promotes the upcoming animated film, Nut Job 2 Nutty by Nature. Nut Job 2 is scheduled to be released on August 18, 2017. I only spotted one cup design. It features a lot of animal characters, including squirrels, dogs, a mouse, etc. 

Oreo Just the Cookie and Just the Crème are back for a limited time only as well. I have a hard time deciding which one I like better but I’m leaning towards Just the Cookie. They taste better together.

P.S. A few months ago, the price went up at Menchie’s South Pasadena went up to 52 cents an ounce.

Menchie’s Asks Froyo Fans to Choose Sides: Just the Cookie or Just the Creme?

Fro-yo girl here. It’s a new month and that means new froyo flavors. Did you know that Oreos are the best selling cookies in America? Menchie’s recently announced two Oreo-themed flavors for September, Just the Cookie and Just the Creme. Which do you prefer?

* Just the Cookie: Made with chocolate cookie crumbs swirled with cocoa, like Cookies n’ cream, it tastes like chocolate cookies

* Just the Creme: It actually tastes like the vanilla creme part of the Oreo cookie, the vanilla flavor is subtle, the texture smooth and creamy. It’s the type of flavor that would go well with most toppings.

I’m going to cast my vote for team Just the Cookie. These two new froyo flavors are fun, creative and familiar. Try them soon and top them with mini Oreos and mini Golden Oreos.
