Fro-yo girl here. Belmont, a smaller city in San Mateo County, has a current population of 27,132. It is considered a quiet, safe, affluent residential community. It currently has two froyo shops and two that closed. For such a small town, that’s not bad. Menchie’s and Ya-Ua are thirteen and fifteen years old, respectively.
Golden Spoon once had signs up in Belmont in 2012 but never opened. Instead, that space became a Menchie’s. Apizza, which carries Loving Cup frozen yogurt, also announced plans to open in Belmont but never opened.
Current Froyo Shops
- Menchie’s, 1200 El Camino Real Ste A3, opened in 2012
- Ya-Ua, 1090 Alameda de Las Pulgas, is a self-serve froyo and boba shop that opened in 2010
Closed Froyo Shops
- Rockets Yogurt, 1538 El Camino Real, had a 1950's classic car theme and counter-serve format. It opened and closed in 2008.
- Yoppi Yogurt, 1005 Alameda de las Pulgas, opened at the Carlmont Shopping Center in 2011, taking over the old Jamba Juice space. The self-serve shop closed in 2016. Yoppi Yogurt started in San Francisco and later opened shops along the Peninsula.
No Longer Offers Froyo
- Capo, 2040 Ralston Ave, is a fast casual Mediterranean restaurant that opened in 2020 and added froyo in 2021. It no longer offers froyo.
The Jamba Juice might have offered froyo before it closed.
Did I miss any froyo places in Belmont? Let me know.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
