Fro-yo girl here. I remember hearing about Crumbl Cookies’ Mango Frozen Yogurt cookie last year, when I didn’t live near a Crumbl Cookies shop. Crumbl Cookies has been growing like crazy since then and I was finally able to try the Mango Frozen Yogurt cookie this week.
Mango Frozen Yogurt is a chilled mango cookie with a mango yogurt and vanilla swirled frosting. Sounds good, right? The mango cookie is thick and dense, like a sugar/butter cookie. I couldn’t taste the mango or see the mango. But it wasn’t crazy sweet. There was too much frosting but people who go to Crumbl must love frosting. The frosting tasted like vanilla buttercream with a bit of tang and slight fruitiness. For a mango cookie, I could barely taste the mango. And it didn’t taste like frozen yogurt either, but I still like how froyo was the inspiration.
One cookie is $4.50 and the flavors change every week.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Fro-yo girl here. Back in late May, Pinkberry introduced a new swirl combination called “Two-Player Game,” inspired by the new Broadway musical, Be More Chill. The “Two-Player Game” combination is a swirl of pomegranate and matcha frozen yogurt, topped with blueberries, mochi, and granola. They also introduced a special Be More Chill cup design, hosted a meet-and-greet of the Be More Chill cast members, and sponsored a sweepstakes to win a trip for two to NYC to see Be More Chill. The “Two-Player Game” combination is available in NYC only (sad face). But, the Be More Chill sweepstakes is open to legal US residents, 18 and over no purchase necessary. The contest ends on June 17, 2019.
In other Pinkberry news, last week Pinkberry announced a new “Ama-ZING” combination for summer, Mango frozen yogurt with freshly cut mango, Tajin, and a lime wedge. For those of you unfamiliar with Tajin, it’s a chili-lime-salt seasoning. Tajin is the leading brand in Mexico it’s produced in Zapopán, Mexico. I’ve seen Tajin for sale in many grocery stores. Trader Joe’s even has its own private label version. Tajin is added to just about everything, including fresh fruit. Mango frozen yogurt is not a new flavor at Pinkberry.
Honestly, I like my fruit plain and I also don’t love mangoneadas/chamango. I had one and the flavor of the chamoy sauce was overwhelming. However, I like Tajin on my corn.
I tried the “Ama-ZING” combination at Pinkberry and it was better than I expected. Tajin is strong, so ask for a light sprinkle, unless you know you love it. The Tajin isn’t that spicy or salty. Both the Tajin and fresh lime juice make the mango froyo tangier. The mango froyo is one of their sweeter tart flavors, so I appreciated the extra tang.
I’ve seen Tajin at a good number of frozen yogurt shops. Yogurtland introduced Chili Mango sorbet in August 2017, which was made with Tajin.
Mango Frozen Yogurt is available at participating U.S. Pinkberry stores until August 15. Ask for the "Ama-ZING" combination.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
