New Enlightened Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars Review

Fro-yo girl here. Enlightened just launched a line of frozen Greek yogurt bars. The healthy low-sugar yogurt bars contain 3 grams of added sugar, 5 grams of protein, prebiotics, and probiotics. Each bar is 80 calories. They’re made with real Greek yogurt. One box contains 4 bars and has a suggested retail price of $6.99. Available flavors: Caramel Brownie, Mint & Cookies.

I found both flavors at Sprouts on sale for $6.99/box (regular $7.99/box).

Mint & Cookies: The bar is the same size and shape as a Yasso Greek froyo bar, 65g. It wasn’t as green as Yasso’s Mint Chocolate Chip bar and instead of crunchy bits of chocolate, the Enlightened bar has a chocolate cookie crumble. One bar is 80 calories (vs. Yasso’s 100 calories) and has 5g of sugar vs. Yasso’s 9g. It’s just as sweet as Yasso’s because Enlightened uses monkfruit. Like Yasso Mint Chocolate Chip, Enlightened’s Mint & Cookies has a refreshing mint flavor and a light, creamy texture. The monkfruit gave it a sweet aftertaste, sweeter than you’d find with regular sugar. But the mint flavor is strong and it manages to hide the monkfruit for the most part. It’s pretty good, comparable to Yasso’s Mint Chocolate Chip though I do prefer Yasso’s version. Neither Enlightened or Yasso bars taste like frozen yogurt.

Enlightened offers several lines of healthier, lower sugar frozen dessert bars, frozen dessert pints, and desserts.

Find Enlightened using the store locator feature on their website.

4 out of 5 stars.

You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
